Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Game, Set and Matched

I know, I know, what am I doing here on a Sunday?

Most of you will know that I have been taking advantage of the current Craft Boots Challenge to use my poppy stamps and play around with colours and designs.  It was a last minute impulse thing to order a Penny Black poppy stamp off the internet and it took so long to arrive it almost missed the Challenge, hence why I am here this morning with an emergency post!

But seriously, it is such I pretty stamp I just had to include it and I could not resist trying it in different colour palettes.  However, this time I kept the layout simple and I made each card the same to crated a matched set.

I coloured each poppy image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri card.

I then mounted it on a matching sheet of glitter card.  I folded an A4 sheet of card in two to create my blank card and covered the front with a sheet of Dovecraft polka dot paper.

The ribbon and flat backed gems came from my stash and the sentiments are all from Craftwork Cards.  Finally, I inserted a sheet of printer paper with a sentiment - I think it always looks nice when you open a card.

I was going to promise you that this would be the last you would see of my poppy stamps for a long, long time but I love this one so much I think I am going to put it on some candles to give as Christmas presents.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow to find out about the brand new Crafty Boots Challenge.

  1. Stunning - that stamp is fabulous, I'm not surprised you wanted to use it and your colouring is superb. Love the design but I couldn't possibly choose a favourite as I love them all. xx

    1. Thank you. It is such a delicate stamp, and so realistic. You get the impression that if you touched the petals the poppy would fall apart, just like they do in the garden.
