Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

A Bunch of Poppies

Friday already, where do the days go.  Well, this week most of my days have gone crafting ....... and I have been having a wonderful time.

The current challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is Remembrance - obviously it is about remembering birthday's and anniversaries as well as Remembrance as in World War I, but I recently treated myself to a couple of poppy stamps and I wanted to make good use of them - so more poppy cards from me.  This stamp is a Sheena Douglas one.

My first card was a step card with the more traditional red poppy.  But then I got bit adventurous and started experimenting with my Promarkers.

I mounted my poppies on some silver and some red card.  I then made some poppies out of red and green glitter card.  I added some black flat backed gems to the centre of the glitter poppies.

The backing paper is by Dovecraft and the sentiment and card blank are both from Craftwork Cards.  The red organza ribbon and bakers twine came from my stash.

I next tried a delicate yellow colour poppy, which I mounted on silver mirri and green card.  The buttons, lace and bakers twine came from my stash.

The sentiment and card blank both came from Craftwork Cards., whilst the backing paper is from K & Co.

My last card is possibly my favourite - lilac.  As you can see there is a lot of mauve card and silver mirri in this layout.  The backing paper is from a K & Co stack.

As with the other cards, the card blank and sentiment are from Craftwork Cards.

Don't forget to pop over to the Crafty Boots pages and see fabulous projects from our wonderful Guest Design Team members.

    1. Thank you :) . I like to experiment with colours and the different looks you can get just by changing it - although sometimes I struggle to come up with several different layouts for the same image.

    2. Completely agree! Stamps are so expensive, I feel the need to use it as many times as I can, without having all the cards look the same! You do a great job of that! hugs :)

  2. You have been busy! What a fantastic array of cards. I love the colour variations (but the red is my absolute favourite) and all the embellishments, especially what you have done with the twine and ribbon. Very professional looking too.xx

    1. I keep wavering between the red and the lavender, today I think it is red - but I did enjoy using the different colour schemes - it is interesting how some blend better than others.
