Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Pink Letter K

Good mornin'

Busy day today but I have just got time for a quick post.

I purchased an 8 inch MDF letter from Barry on ebay.  I gave it a coat of Gesso and, once that was dry, I painted it baby pink using acrylic paint.

I also purchased a bag of mixed pink buttons from ebay and used these to cover the painted letter, just look at the shapes and textures that came in my mixed bag of buttons.

Finally, once everything was dry I cleaned any excess glue from the surface.

  1. Oh boy Dionne, you made another one, and this one amazing too! I sure am loving the soft pink and yellow buttons! Is Kay your daughter? Love it, big hugs :)

    1. Thank you, too kind. This is a different K, this is Katie a niece but, like her cousin, a daughter of my heart.

The trouble is, once you start making them, everyone wants one. I have just order 6 more letters. Last Christmas I did a much larger letters for Katie's little boy and another from his cousin. You might find them interesting as they are different from the button design. http://deescraftroom.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/r-is-for.html#comment-form or here for another one http://deescraftroom.blogspot.co.uk/2013/12/letters-in-your-name.html#comment-form

I am getting quite friendly with the ebay man who sells these!

  2. You really are the queen of these letters. Especially clever is how you position the larger buttons so perfectly. xx
