Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

It's a Kind of Magic - Part II

Good Morning

Have you ever made a card and thought that it was finished but later you pick it up and start tinkering with it again?

That recently happened to me with this card. Something about it kept nagging at me but I couldn't think what was wrong until inspiration hit me ...... eventually.

So I took the card apart and started again.

The stamp is from Lili of the Valley and is called Abacadabra!

I coloured the stamp with Promarkers and mounted it on some silver mirri card, striped paper and finally on some pale green glitter card from my stash.

I made a lot of stars from a pack of pearlescent card I had.  I added gold star shaped peal off's to outline the stars.  I also added some little star peel off's to the card.

The butterfly dies are from Memory Box and the flourish is a Marianne Creatable die called Garden Branch (I added a few flat backed gems to form the bodies of the butterflies).

I am much happier now.

  1. Hi Dionne
Abracadabra, hocus pocus (LOL) your card is magical. Love the stamp you used. ! Love all your stars! It is like whole constellation there. LOVE it! Super touch with those butterflies too. I have only tinkered with one card and and funnily enough I added stars to my tinkered one. I seem to be stars lover. I am in the middle of making another card for another of my nephews b-day in September and I could not help myself and have to have stars on it.
