Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Go Team GB

Good morning

Two gold medals for Team GB at the Olympics yesterday, the first to the rowers Heather Stanning and Helen Glover and the second to the amazing cyclist, Bradley Wiggins, in the men's time trial.

As a long time fan of 'Wiggo', my husband would never forgive me for not mentioning one of our greatest Olympians. It is hard to believe that someone has won more medals for Great Britain than Steve Redgrave (Sir Steve has won more gold medals) but, all together, Bradley Wiggins has now won an incredable 7 medals.  Yesterday's gold medal came just over a week after winning the Tour de France.  It isn’t hard to see why  he was chosen to ring the bell which heralded the start of the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony.

I should like to pay tribute all of our fantastic athletes in my own way .................

This is one of the Crafty Gashead range of digital images available from the Crafty Boots on-line store, called Sporty Boots.

I coloured the image using Promarkers, the paper is by DoveCraft and the little Union flags I cut from some of the material I had left over after making my bunting for our Jubilee Street Party.

  1. Hi Dionne
Brilliant card! The digi is lovely and I like the way you coloured her in, especially the way you coloured her t-shirt. I wish I could get interested in Olympics but it is just not my thing. Thanks for the news about the gold medalists. My hubby is going to be stunned after hearing this coming out of my mouth when I hit him with it when he comes back from work.(LOL). I hope GB has got many more victories.
