Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Nautical Challenge

Good morning

I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

There is a new Challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges today, we have two themes, they are "Nautical" or red, white & blue - of course you could combine the two.

It is quite an exciting challenge when you stop to think about it, how often do we get the chance to make something which is about the sea, or sailors, or boats etc?  I have so many ideas and we have the fabulous Emma M to thank for this theme.

I have chosen a lovely Mo Manning digital Stamp for my card, it is called Solemn Sailor.

I coloured the image with combination of Promarker and Flexmarker Pens.

The papers are from a Docraft CD and the anchor charm is from Cards and Craft.

I made the little paper boat - and to think that 48 hours ago I had no idea how to make paper boats and now I have a whole flotilla of little silver hulled, blue sailed, boats of various sizes!

The rest of the design team have come up with some amazing designs, why not pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges and take a look.  We are welcoming a very talented lady to the team today, Sara, please visit her blog and leave a comment to welcome her and then enter your own design in to the challenge.

Good luck.

  4. Love the card but more than that I love your little boat - what a clever idea (note to self - remember to make a little boat next time!). I love that you have a small flotilla of them now!

    1. Thank you for your kind comments Gabrielle.

I ended up making so many paper boats because I was trying to get one the right size for the card. When I photographed the card, I tried to include all the other boats but it made the card so small you could not see it very well.

  5. Wow, I was wondering (until I finished reading) whether you made the little boat. Great job! The card is so sweet. The sailor does look quite solemn, but you have colored him beautifully. Fantastic. I love it! xx Denise
