Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

No Girls Allowed

Good morning, I hope it is a wonderful day wherever you are today the sun is shining here but it is very chilly.

Crafty Boots Challenges has a new challenge this morning set by the amazing Emma T.  The title of the challenge is "No Girls Allowed".  This does not necessarily mean it has to be all about boy stuff, it's just that no images of girls are allowed for this challenge.

I have chosen this great stamp of the Mad Hatter from the IndigoBlu's Alice in Wonderland range.  To be honest with you, I am dreadful at getting my cards in the post in time for them to reach their destination on the desired date, so this card is perfect for me to send apologising for my tardiness - I can see me getting a lot of use out of it!

I coloured this stamp with my Promarkers and I added some Glossy Accents to the watch face to make it stand out.  I distressed the edges of the card with a Making Memories edge scraper tool and some Ranger Stormy Sky ink.  I added the gold cord, which came out of my stash.  The skeleton watch charm is also from IndigoBlu and the paper is from a Docraft CD.

Now, don't forget to pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges and take a look at all the really wonderful projects the other Design Team Members have come up with, I know you will find them as inspiring as I did.

I hope you have as much fun making a card for this challenge as I did, good luck.

  4. I have a cartoon on my fridge, the boss says, "You're 2 hours late". The other guy says, "I had car trouble." The boss says, "what was wrong with it?" The other guy says, "I was 2 hours late getting into it". Yep, that's pretty much me, lol. I love that charm, it is perfect for your Mad Hatter! {Hugs} Barb
