Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Savannah

Hi fellow bloggers and a special welcome to anyone who has found their way here by way of the Crafty Boots Challenges website.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, for the next two weeks the very talented Faye has chosen the theme of "Yellow",  so let your imagination go wild and conjure up some bright, beautiful, sunny images.

Here is what the word yellow said to me:

This fabulously cute little girl is from Mo's Digital Pencil and she is called Savannah.

When I looked at my Promarkers I realised that I have a lot of yellows, so I was able to give her a bright yellow outfit.  The papers are all from Dovecraft and the sentiment is from Crafty Art.  Finally, the little daisies are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Challenges Design Team have made some amazing tags and cards and I urge you to pop over and take a peek.

......... oh and don't forget to share your yellow creations with the rest of us.

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

It's not really the weather to beside the sea at the moment but last week's Crafty Boots Nautical Challenge reminded me that I had the Faye Whittaker Collection CD and had never used it.

I actually made this set of six quick cards (and trust me they were very quick to make) last week but I did not find the time to post them.

All the toppers and the backing papers came from the CD and the Craftwork cards Craft Candi came from Crafty Boots on-line store.

Even if it's not the weather for paddling these fabulous Faye Whittaker images lifted my spirits, I hope they do the same for you.

No Girls Allowed

Good morning, I hope it is a wonderful day wherever you are today the sun is shining here but it is very chilly.

Crafty Boots Challenges has a new challenge this morning set by the amazing Emma T.  The title of the challenge is "No Girls Allowed".  This does not necessarily mean it has to be all about boy stuff, it's just that no images of girls are allowed for this challenge.

I have chosen this great stamp of the Mad Hatter from the IndigoBlu's Alice in Wonderland range.  To be honest with you, I am dreadful at getting my cards in the post in time for them to reach their destination on the desired date, so this card is perfect for me to send apologising for my tardiness - I can see me getting a lot of use out of it!

I coloured this stamp with my Promarkers and I added some Glossy Accents to the watch face to make it stand out.  I distressed the edges of the card with a Making Memories edge scraper tool and some Ranger Stormy Sky ink.  I added the gold cord, which came out of my stash.  The skeleton watch charm is also from IndigoBlu and the paper is from a Docraft CD.

Now, don't forget to pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges and take a look at all the really wonderful projects the other Design Team Members have come up with, I know you will find them as inspiring as I did.

I hope you have as much fun making a card for this challenge as I did, good luck.

Let Them Eat Cake

Hi

It's my oldest and dearest friend's birthday today.  It has given me the opportunity to use this lovely House-Mouse stamp.

I used my Flexmarkers and Promarkers to colour the stamp and I added some Glossy Accents to the candle.  I went over the pink frosting with a clear Wink of Stella pen to give it a lovely sparkly effect.  The matching papers and sentiment came from the House-Mouse Inserts CD and the contrast paper from a Docraft DC.

The large butterfly die is a Marianne Creatable and the gorgeous flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Happy Birthday Jim

Hi

I have a very full week of birthday's.  Yesterday it was my sister's birthday.  Today it is her husband's birthday and her grandson's.  I posted my great nephew's card a few weeks ago (click here).

I thought that my brother-in-law deserved a day of being spoilt- although he did have to work!

I found the perfect image at Teddy Bo & Co, it's called Afternoon Nap.  I coloured it with Promarkers and the card came from my stash.

Happy Birthday Deb

It's my sister's birthday today, I do not think she would thank me for telling you how old she is!

Her son is treating her to some spa treatments and she has been looking forward to her pampering day.  This Teddy Bo & Co stamp is perfect for a pampering day, it's called Bathtime Bea.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and I gave the bubbles a shimmer with a WOS clear pen.

The card and ribbon came from my stash.

Enjoy your makeover today Deb and I'll see you later.

Happy Easter

I hope that you are able to make the most of this long weekend, perhaps you are spending it with good friends and family, or enjoying a little 'me' time relaxing, or, like me, you are catching up with some long over due crafting.

I plan to spend as much time as possible this weekend scrapbooking, I have an awful lot to do but it is something I just cannot rush.

I also wanted to wish all my family and friends a very happy Easter Day.

I have one last Easter card to post.  It's another from the Sugar Nellie's Home Grown new digital Sherbet Pip stamps, this one is called Lamb Pip.

I decided to make this image into another circle easel card.  After colouring the stamp with my Promarkers, I mounted it onto Craftwork Cards Ice Cream Parlour Scallop Doillies and added flat backed gems from Kanban Crafts and Card Candi, also from Craftwork Cards.  The additional paper is by DoveCraft.

The Deluxe Crafter Card that I printed the digi stamp onto, and all of the Craftwork Card supplies, came from the Crafty Boots on-line store.

Nautical Challenge

Good morning

I hope you had a fabulous weekend.

There is a new Challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges today, we have two themes, they are "Nautical" or red, white & blue - of course you could combine the two.

It is quite an exciting challenge when you stop to think about it, how often do we get the chance to make something which is about the sea, or sailors, or boats etc?  I have so many ideas and we have the fabulous Emma M to thank for this theme.

I have chosen a lovely Mo Manning digital Stamp for my card, it is called Solemn Sailor.

I coloured the image with combination of Promarker and Flexmarker Pens.

The papers are from a Docraft CD and the anchor charm is from Cards and Craft.

I made the little paper boat - and to think that 48 hours ago I had no idea how to make paper boats and now I have a whole flotilla of little silver hulled, blue sailed, boats of various sizes!

The rest of the design team have come up with some amazing designs, why not pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges and take a look.  We are welcoming a very talented lady to the team today, Sara, please visit her blog and leave a comment to welcome her and then enter your own design in to the challenge.

Good luck.
