Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Trick or Treat

Good evening

This evening thousands of children take to the streets to 'Trick or Treat' in their neighbourhood.  Whilst I am not happy to have groups of teenagers banging on my door I do love to see all of the small children dressed up and so excited by the generosity of all of these grown-ups.

In recently years no one has knocked on our door because all of the children living in our street have grown up. but I still make up grab bags for the youngest of my nieces and nephews.   This year I decided to make them a variation of the 'Mummy' Grab Bag.

For these bags I bought a pack of blue and white striped bags and some matching blue tissue ..... and lots and lots of glue.

To make my 'mummy' I started by cutting some black card to fit the front of the bag. Next, I cut circles from white card for the eyes and smaller circles in black for the pupils. Then I tore strips of white card and distressed the edges with Ranger Vintage Photo. Finally, I glued overlapping strips to the black card - leaving space for the eyes.

As an after thought I glued some plastic spiders to the front.

I hope you have a happy and safe evening.

    1. That's lovely, this year my neice took her two little ones out in the afternoon, so they were all done before it go dark. As with the last couple of years, we had no one knocking.

  2. These are fab. They look so professional. We had quite a few this year and under 11s rather than older. I thought we might run out of sweets!

    1. Thank you, you may remember that I did something similar about five years ago.

I think it is three or four years now since we last had any trick or treaters. My niece, who lives about three miles away, sent me some photos of their evening and their were literally dozens of people walking down the street, all of the children wore constumes (my niece was all dressed up as well, but she is quite small and can get herself into a large childs size, ha ha.)

  3. Absolutely love this! First your photo set up is amazing and totally cute. I love these little bags... I will have to try this! Thank you for visiting my blog again...I haven't been on it for such a long time and recently my hard drive on my computer died so I lost data from past 3 months and I never backed up my edited & watermark photos of my blog and tons from my etsy shop... I'm so sad but I will try to fix it! Take care and can't wait to see more!

    1. Hi, it is good to hear from you, such a nuisance to loose all your data - it takes me a long time to crop and watermark my photo's, usually I takes me a whole evening to put together a single post. So I feel your pain.

These bags are a little time consuming but they are very simple to make. I hope you have a go.

Thank you for noticing the set-up, did you spot that the little oranges all slowly turned to face the left? Spooky!
