Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

And a Few Hats More

Pinch and a punch, it's the first of the month.  April already, I know I keep saying it, but where is this year going?  Easter is just around the corner and before we know it everyone will be talking about Christmas.

In the run up to Christmas I shared with you the Advent  Hats I had made for my friend's little Elf on the Shelf.  This got me to thinking, why not make festive hats for my family of bears and Mary Jane's Tearoom characters?  So I got out my knitting needles again and started knitting, here's just a few.

My Charlie Bears offered to model some of the hats.  Here we have little Niamh, wearing her new white winter hat.  I think she looks so sweet.

Next we have Ming and Ross, two of my panda Charlie Bear's.

Here we have Carol wearing a Nordic style patterned hat.  Carol has the most wonder sparkly fur, she always looks very festive.

But it wasn't long before everyone wanted to be photographed wearing their new hats ... they think they look so smart.  (Oh, I will be in a lot of trouble if I do not tell you that this is Ade sitting between Carol and Ross, he is already annoyed with me because I forgot to take a close-up of him in his Santa hat).  The rest of the gang are made from Mary-Jane's Tearoom patterns.

In all, I made 32 of these hats, in various sizes, so they will fit different toys, some have pom poms and others have bells.  I intend to share them with my niece, so that next Christmas she will be able to dress up her daughter's toys.

In the meantime, I managed to wrestle the hats off my gang and I have put them away for next Christmas.

I hope you have a great week.

  1. Such a great collection of hats! You've been busy! Hope all is well. Do you make any bunny ear hats or anything like that? I made a bunny headband which I will be posting next week (hopefully).

  3. It won't surprise you to know that I was very happy to see Christmas things appearing, even if it is nearly Easter. A great collection and I've picked out several favourites including the green one with the tree, the Scandi style one and the one with snowflakes. The cream one would look great with the booties in your last post x
