Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Lavender Bunny

In my attempt to make a knitted toy for every under 5 I know, I was knitting right up to Christmas and I still have a few last minute knitted toys to show you.

It really was a last minute push, just time snap a photograph before wrapping them.  As usual, my photographic skills are all over the place.

As suggested in the title of this post, this bunny really is a lavender colour, shame you cannot see how pretty she is.  This bunny is made from a alpaca/wool mix double knit yarn, using one of Julie Williams 'Little Cotton Rabbits' patterns.  The 'bunny girl' pattern has tights and shoes but as I was in a bit of a hurry I used the Boy Bunny pattern, which has plain legs and feet.

This bunny has a really big fluffy white tail hidden under her dress.

The dress is one of SuzyMarie's variations of Julie Williams Seasonal Dresses patterns, this one is called 'Tiny Buds Dress' (it is free from Ravelry) and it is made from 4 ply cotton.

    1. Thank you Carol, I really wish the colour was less 'muddy', so you could see how pretty the dress is.

  2. I can almost smell the lavender!(Probably better that I can't as it makes me sneeze!!!) I think I've mentioned previously that this is my favourite spring colour combination so a great choice here. Love the contrast of her white tail and the dress is so pretty.x

    1. Many thanks Lisette. I really wish I had checked the photos before I wrapped this one, it is so much prettier in real life. However, I have a feeling this will not be the last time I use this yarn.

  3. Thank you for your comment Dionne and I had those dies on my desk because I had the bright idea od die-cutting one of every die I had to put on a large piece of card so I could see at a glance what I had and not overlook anything--got halfway through and got really fed up so that's why I had them on my desk-cut out and not done anything with lol

  4. Hello Dionne, just thought I would stop in and say hello!! What a sweet bunny, I think I am loving lavender most of all, how precious! Are you still making cards now, or are you strictly crocheting? Just curious.

So many people have been hit with snow recently, but here in Canada it's been lovely spring weather for the most part. How ironic is that! I haven't had a chance to get out yet and enjoy any of it, but the summer birds are arriving and the smells and sounds of the warmer season are starting to become more noticeable. Looks like it's shaping up to be a season of tons of babies!! sending hugs to you and hoping you have a lovely weekend :)

    1. Hi Pamellia

I think you would laugh if you saw how little snow can bring the UK to it's knees. Two inches had people panic buying and the big supermarkets running out of food. But it has all gone now from the area I live in (although friends higher up are still getting heavy snow showers).

Thank you for your lovely comments on this bunny, she is very sweet.

      Take care of yourself.

    1. Thank you. I think the more I use my camera, the worse I get. The colours here are well off, both the lavender and yellow are much prettier shades than the photos would suggest. I can assure you, she looked really cute.
