Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Little Boy Blue

A big thank you for visiting my space today, I really do appreciate your visits.  My dear friend Nicole  (aka Cdeaca Crafts) left a lovely comment yesterday and it made me realise that I have not posted anything for quite some time.

I am so busy knitting at the moment I forget to share it with you, I am so sorry.  Here is a cardigan I made for my baby niece towards the end of last year - I have not had the opportunity to post it before now.

This is a very, very old Robin pattern, Bambino 2496, which I bought in a lot of second hand patterns.  To be honest the photograph on the front of the pattern is not very attractive and you could not see the design very clearly but I am so pleased I did not dismiss it because, as you can see,  it is a very pretty design.  I made the cardigan in Baby Double Knit - I think it is a lot softer than ordinary Double Knit.

Thank you so much for visiting today.

  3. This is beautiful! Sorry I am posting a little late...my son made his First Holy Communion and we have been busy with the rehearsals etc. It was so lovely even though he was anxious to get out of his suit. It started snowing for about 10 minutes!! Southwest America. I get the same way..I haven't posted many cards recently because we get busy. Your work is so beautiful, those buttons are lovely as well! Have a great week!! :)

    1. Thank you. Family comes first in my book. It sounds like your family enjoyed your son's first Communion - a day to remember.

  4. This is so beautiful!! I absolutely love the pattern across the bottom, wow!! So just out of curiosity, have you ever knitted or crocheted anything for an animal before? A lap dog or a guinea pig for example?? I've been having a hard time finding something in the stores, was thinking I may have to commission you to put something together for me (I totally do not have the patience to do this myself) haha. Just thought I would ask. sending hugs :)

    1. Thank you my dear. I have never made any pet clothes and I would need a knitting pattern. I should imagine a guinea pig's coat would fit your little girls, they are so tiny.

I have a friend who dresses up her little dog all of the time, I think he has more outfits then me.
