Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The Little Golfer

What is going on with the UK weather? The BBC are predicting temperatures in the low 30s today, autumn is just around the corner and I would expect much lower temperatures ... and probably rain. Instead we are experiencing record breaking temperatures. What is the weather like where you live? I should love to know, why not leave a comment about your weather in the box below?

The current Crafty Boots Challenge is all about squares, big squares, small squares, one square, many squares, square cards, square canvasses, square scrapbook pages etc. The title of the challenge is called 'All Squared Up'.

I have chosen a square card for my project today, it features another of my Funky Kits rubber stamps from their Sugar Nellie range. This one is called 'Fore!' it is perfect for the golfer in my life. I love my Sugar Nellie stamps, the only problem with them is that they are quite small and it is difficult to inject a lot of shading into them when I colour them with Promarkers - it is hard enough to keep within the lines!

I mounted the image on silver mirri and some Real Red Card. The background papers are from a Timeless Textures paper stack. I made the sentiment on my computer.

Don't forget to enter your square projects into this Crafty Boots Challenge.

Good luck.

    1. That is really interesting. I am in Essex, we have had the incredible hot days but not the fog. Friends of mine who live near Southampton reported that it has been raining there this evening .... bring it this way, please!

What am I like, I shall be complaining about the winter in a few weeks!

  2. Such an adorable card! Ok, you are in the UK..that makes sense...I knew everytime I saw "coloured" spelled that way :) it is quite hot where I live (sw usa) but the temperatures are going from 98 to 89 so its not as hot. But we rarely see snow ever. When it rains, we freak out because its rare!

    1. Yeah, we spell quite a few things differently but coloured is the big give away here.

The other big difference is our weather, it is true that the Brits talk about the weather all of the time but that is because it varies so much and from day to day. Last week we were roasting with some of the hottest temperatures on record, this week it is decidedly chilly with the occasional shower - autumn (fall) seems to have arrived and quite suddenly.

We get our fair share of snow but I cannot remember the last time we had a white Christmas!

I am not a big fan of very hot days, I think my brain melts, and I quite like the changes in the weather .... it gives me something to talk about!
