Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Advent Countdown - Day 4

I am back again with Day 4 of my 2018 Advent adventure.  How is your week progressing?

Before I start telling you about today's Advent present I really feel the need to apologise for my dreadful photography, I am afraid that you can see the shadow from my lens in this picture.  I was trying to get in close so you could see the detail and I got the camera under the overhead light.  If I was a better photographer I would have used the telescopic abilities of the lens instead of getting up close and personal.

As you can see, today we have a fawn coloured skirt.  If you have been following this little story you will know that each day this month I am sharing with you one element of several knitted outfits.  Now, I am sure you spotted that this skirt does not appear to match anything you have previously seen .... well, unless Santa has taken up cross dressing!

The pattern for this skirt is taken from Mary Jane's Tearooms Bluebell pattern.  It is made in Anchor's 4 ply cotton and has a pretty picot hem and a tied waist.

As we progress it might be a fun to play guess what item of clothing it is going to be tomorrow.  Any ideas?

See you tomorrow.

    1. You are so right and by then the thing you have photographed has gone and you cannot re-do the photo and you are stuck with a spoilt pic.
