Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Advent Countdown - Day 1

Well, I think we can no longer avoid the C word, today we start what many think of as the countdown to Christmas.  Yesterday I shared with you the box to hold the Advent presents I have made for my BFF and today I am back with my second post to show you the first of those Advent presents.

Many of you may remember that in the past I have made two knitted bears for my friend - Donovan and Daisy.  This time last year my friend spoke of making her bears part of her Christmas decorations by dressing them in festive cloths.  At the time I would have loved to have made her complete outfits for both bears but there was not enough time, however, I did make Donovan a Santa Hat.

I think it is about time that Daisy had a hat of her own and I thought that she might look rather fetching on an elf hat to sit along side Donovan and their chums.  It is made of two shades of green cotton 4 ply with a lovely jingle bell on the top.

Well, that is enough from me for today, I shall return tomorrow.
