Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Baby Bunny

My niece recently gave birth to a beautiful daughter.  Little Lucy Louise kept us waiting and was two weeks overdue but she was worth the wait.  Little Lucy has a big brother who already adores her, I made this card for him, congratulating on becoming a brother.

The polymer stamp was part of a 'New Baby' Kit I bought from C&C, I coloured it with my polychromos pencils and then mounted it on some silver mirri and some pink card.  The new baby paper and the letters came from the Forever Friends 'New Arrival' paper stack.  The hydrangea flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Anyone who knows me will not be surprized to hear that I have knitted her a huge pile of little cardigans, hats and mittens, here are two of them.

I chose the pink ones because they are in keeping with the current Crafty Boots Pink Challenge.

    1. Thank you, I am sure I will eventually get around to blogging the rest of my knitting. It is something I have only recently taken up, for years I was happy crocheting but when my great nieces and nephews started arriving I decided it was time for a change and I taught myself to knit by watching clips on YouTube.

Many thanks for the birthday wishes, I really appreciate them and am amazed you remembered.

    1. Thank you for all of your lovely comments Carol. I guess I am sot of old fashioned and think that little babies look very cute a nice white or pastle hand knit. I made my new niece 9 new cardies plus she received about a dozen hand me downs from her brother and cousins, all knitted by yours truely. Mind you, once they reach four or five I stop knitting for them, not so cute then and they want to be like their mates, which means shop bought.

    1. Thank you, I clearly have the knack of making something that took me hours to make look quite simple and easy. I think I am struggling with my creativiety at the moment but I am really enjoying my knitting, time flies when I have my needles in my hands.

    1. Thank you so much, my birthday was a couple of weeks ago now - unbelievable! But it was one of those big ones with a '0' on the end so I am making it last as long as I can ... I am trying for 6 months.

    2. I won't ask how old since that is impolite but I am hitting an '0' as well but I haven't been alive for more than 3 decades...yet! Those zeros scare me though! Lol

    3. Ow, I can rack up a few more decades than you, but let's not dwell on that for too long. What's that about being as young as you feel?
