Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

White Letter K

It's Friday, the weekend is almost here and it is a hot sunny day in the UK.  Last night we had an amazing thunderstorm, right overhead and it went on for a good half an hour.  No one around here got a lot of sleep last night!

It occurred to me that I have not made one of favourite button covered letter for a while, so I got out my paint and glue.

I purchased an 8 inch MDF letter from Barry on ebay.  I gave it a coat of Gesso and, once that was dry, I painted it white using acrylic paint.

I also purchased a bag of mixed white buttons from ebay and used these to cover the painted letter.  Once everything was dry I cleaned any excess glue from the surface.  Finally, I added a few Petaloo Flora Doodle flowers.

It can get a little messy but these letters are so much fun to do.

Have a great weekend.

  1. Wow, Dionne! What a great project, I just love the concept! I am so gonna do a P for my craft room! I am curious, what does the K stand for? hugs :)

    1. Hi Pamellia, I hope you are OK. In this instance the K stands for Kay.

      Have a good weekend.

      Dionne x

    2. Yay, I just picked up a whole bag of buttons, now I just have to find a big giant "P". lol

  2. Love the white and then the pop of colour from the flowers. Wouldn't white be great to give as a wedding gift? xx

Thank you for visiting my blog, I look forward to reading your feedback on my work. I hope you will visit again.
