Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Purple Haze

Hi

Oh dear, I have become a bit of an addict as far as decorated letters are concerned and I love making them for my family and friends.  Here is another.

I purchased an 8 inch MDF letter 'C' from Barry on ebay.  I gave it a coat of Gesso then, once that was dry, I painted it lilac using acrylic pearlescent paint - I love this colour.

I also purchased a bag of mixed purple/lilac buttons from ebay and used these to cover the painted letter.  Once everything was dry I cleaned away the excess glue from the surface.

  1. Anyone who is lucky enough to receive one of these cannot fail to be thrilled with it as they are so beautifully done. So how lucky am I to have my very own?! xx

  2. This is fab, Dionne! Christmas has become so commercial these days that it's nice to give something that has been handmade - I hope to be a bit more organised this year and make pressies throughout the year, so this will definitely go on my list of ideas! Hugs, Lisa x
