Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Cherry Pip

Another Sugar Nellie, Home Grown stamp today from the Sherbet Pip range, this one is called Cherry Pip, isn't she sweeeeet?

The card blank and sentiment I used for this card are by Craftwork Cards, which I purchased from Crafty Boots on-line store, the paper is Brenda Walters and the lace came from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I have entered this card into the following challenge:

My Recipe Book

Hi and welcome to my blog.

It's time for another challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, for the next two weeks our mantra is Food, Glorious Food.

I decided it was time the notebook I keep all my favourite recipes in, had a new cover.

The little cook image is from The Stamping Boutique and is called Audrey the Chef.  I coloured it with a combination of Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Wink of Stella pens.  The ribbons are from The Paper Company.

The backing paper is from a Forever Friends CD.  The pink, brown and vanilla colours of this paper always remind me of the Neopolitan ice cream we had when I was a child - whenever it was my turn to pick the ice cream, I could never decide which flavour I wanted, so naturally, I went for all of them in the one block!  (Now I think about it, I don't have enough ice cream in my life these days.)

I added a polka dot cupcake case, a doily and a few coffee beans - because I love my coffee and cake.  The letters I made on the computer.

Now, don't forget to pop over to the Crafty Boots Challenges blog to see all of the fabulous projects the rest of the Design Team have come up with.

I hope to see you back here soon.

You are my Sunshine

I hope that you are having a great weekend.

Hubby is working this weekend so I have had the Promarkers and rubber stamps out.

I bought this stamp some time ago but had not had the time to make a card with it.

It is another Sugar Nellie, Home Grown stamp from their Sherbet Pip range, this one is called Posy Pip and it just cried out sunflowers to me.

I have decided to enter this card into the following challenges:

Craft Us Crazy - Favourite Colour/Favourite Embellishment (my favourite embellishment is ribbon but this rosette is really growing on me)
Crafty Anne's Challenge Blog - Bold and Bright
Paper Crafting Journey - Make it Cute

Candy Sherbet Pip

I think you many have heard me say once or twice how much I love the Sugar Nellie's Home Grown stamps.

This one is Candy Pip from their Sherbet Pips range.

After colouring the stamp with Promarkers I mounted it on gold mirri card. The rose paper is from a Forever Friends CD and this lovely die is a Marianne Creatable Die called Branch Garden. I finished the card off with a sentiment and Candi from Craftwork Cards, some ribbon and a couple of hat pins.

Hearts Between Us

This is something of a record, my forth post today.

This Teddy Bo & Co image was intended to be another Valentine card but at the last minute I switched the sentiment to read Happy Anniversary, after all I have already posted six Valentine cards.  (If you have just had a quick count and can only find four Valentine cards, click here to see the two I made for the current Crafty Boots Valentine Challenge.)

I am not a pink person but I really love how this very pink card turned out.  The stamp is called Hearts Between Us and I coloured it with Promarkers.  I used Glossy Accents on the balloon hearts and the centre of the 'daisy' to make them nice and shiny.

I mounted the stamp on a combination of gold and red holographic card and a paper is from DoveCraft.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Jolly's Heart is for You

Another Valentine card and another Teddy Bo & Co image.

I cannot decide whether little Olifant or Jolly the Giraffe is my favourite, I adore them both and their friends Teddy Bo and Bea, as regular visitors to my blog will know.

I coloured Jolly with Promarkers and added some sweet little pink brads with hearts on.  The fab polka dot paper is from a Polka Doodle CD.

I have decided to enter this card in the following challenge.

The Squirrel and the Fox - #11 Valentine's Day
Dream Valley Challenges - #25 Valentine

Love is the Word

This is my first Bugaboo stamp but I cannot image it will be my last (well, to tell the truth I know it's not, I bought two others when I bought this one!)

This stamp is called Ava and Deacon Love Word, aren't they sweet?

This design turned into something of an impromptu sewing basket, what with the ribbons, lace and pins.  The hearts are Marianne Creatable Dies.

I have decided to enter this card into the following challenges:

Craft Us Crazy - Anything Goes

A Bea Needs a Rose

Happy Saint Valentine' Day.

Here is my first Valentine card post of the day.  I do not know what I am going to do with all of the Valentine cards I have made, I only have the one husband to send them to!

I wanted to try out a few ideas on this card.  First I printed this Teddy Bo & Co image, Bea Needs a Rose, on the Crafty Boots Deluxe Crafters Card, I then printed it again on some paper with a tiny rose bud design.  I carefully cut out Teddy Bea's cloths and stuck them onto the plain image and coloured it with a combination of Flexmarkers and Promarkers.  I used only brown and sepia colours because I really wanted the red rose to stand out.

When I had finished colouring, I glued a small red rose over the rose in Jolly's mouth - I was so lucky to find a rose of exactly the right size.

I have decided to enter this card in the following challenges:

Gingerloft Challenges - #33 Love is in the Air
The Squirrel and the Fox - #11 Valentine's Day
Dream Valley Challenges - #25 Valentine

Olifant Love

Before the day comes and goes, I need to get a move on and post some more of the Valentine cards I have made.

This cute little guy comes from Teddy Bo & Co and is called Olifant Love.

I coloured him with a combination of FlexMarkers and Promarkers, I wanted to achieve a light, washed-out effect for him and the heart, but to cap (no pun intended) this with stronger colours in his hat.

I have been looking for a good excuse to use my new lace from Wild Orchid Crafts but have struggled to get the look right (this is the first card where I have been happy with the lace).  The heart paper is from DoveCraft.

I have decided to enter this card into the follow challenge:

Dream Valley Challenges - #25 Valentine

Sweet Blossom

Hi

How was your week?  It's been pretty cold here in the UK with heavy snowfall almost everywhere last weekend.  In fact, perfect weather for staying home, turning up the heat and getting out the craft stuff.

This fabulous image is by Sylvia Zet, isn't she sweet?

I have coloured her with Promarkers and mounted her on silver mirror card and pink glitter card.  The paper is a Polkadoodle design.

Wishing You Every Happiness

The other day I mentioned that two couples I know had recently got engaged, here is the other card I made.

I used my favourite Teddy Bo images for this card and. if I do say so myself, I think this is probably the best card I have ever made.

I coloured the image, which is called Love Showers, with my Promarkers and cut the shapes with my Nesties. The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the paper from DoveCraft.

I interspersed the roses with small pearl headed pins.

Keiron and Stephanie-Emma are two very special people and I wish them every happiness.

Be My Valentine

Hi and welcome to my blog.

It's time for another challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges, for the next two weeks it is all about St Valentine's Day.

I have chosen a Teddy Bo Design called Love Showers.

I coloured this image with Promarkers and the roses came from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The card and papers came from my stash.

I interspersed the roses with small pearl headed pins.

When I visited the Teddy Bo store, to find an image suitable for this challenge, I had trouble deciding on my favourite and ended up buying several ..... as you do.

After colouring this one with Promarkers I added some Glossy Accents to all the places I thought the paint would be wet (this is something I had seen Hazel at Just Add Glitter do and I wanted to try it for myself).  I then added a sentiment. a few buttons and a bow to complete.

Why not pop over to the  Crafty Boots Challenge blog and see all the fabulous cards the other Design Team Members have made.

I would also like to to enter these cards in the following challenges:

Honey Pip

I needed a quick thank you card and felt that this lovely Sugar Nellie Stamp would be perfect.

I coloured this Honey Pip stamp with Promarkers and mounted her on mirror card and a Brenda Walters paper.  I then added some lace and a sentiment from Kanban Crafts.

Eski Bo and Bea

A good friend of mine is really not enjoying our current weather.  She is in her 80's and finds it hard enough to get about as it is without a foot of snow trapping her indoors.  So I wanted to send her a card to cheer her up.

My friend has a wicked sense of humour and I think she will appreciate this Teddy Bo and Bea Eskimo image.

What a Jolly Bow

I really enjoyed colouring Jolly Giraffe from Teddy Bo, although you need a steady hand to do his mane!

I printed the image on the Crafty Boots Deluxe Crafters Card and coloured it with my Promarkers, the card is from C&C.  I have not added a sentiment yet, I will leave that until I send the card and know what I want it to say.
