Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Happy Easter

Welcome fellow bloggers.

For the last couple of days the sun has been shinning and the birds singing, the clocks in the UK have switched to British Summer Time, and I suspect that spring is at last here. Tah-dah!

Yesterday was Mothering Sunday, which must mean that Easter is only 3 weeks away, and today a new challenge starting at Crafty Boots Challenges.  I suspect that you will not be surprized to hear that the theme for the next two weeks is 'Easter'.

I have been busy making Easter cards to send to my family and today I wish to share with you this one.

This image is one of Sugar Nellie's Home Grown digital Sherbet Pip stamps, this one is called Lambing Pip.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri and pink Centura Pearl card.

The gorgeous flowers are by Petaloo and the backing paper and butterfly are from my stash.

Please take the time to look at the Crafty Boots Challenges website and all of the lovely projects the rest of the Design Team have made.

Birds in My Hair

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

The current Crafty Boots Challenge is 'Feathers' and there is just time for me to slip in another birdie post.  This is another image from A Day for Daisies.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on blue Centura Pearl card. I then embossed some white Centura Pearl card for the background.

There are still time for you to enter your 'Feather' Creations into the current Crafty Boots Challenges.

Braid in My Hair

Hi

Many thanks for popping by today.  My apologies for my lack of posts this week but things have been a little hectic here, what with one thing another.  However, I have couple of minutes to post this card.  The image is called Braid in My Hair and it is from A Day for Daisies.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri and blue card.

The polka dot papers are from Papermania and the lace is from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards and the rest of the embellishments came from my stash.

There are still a few days for you to enter your 'Feather' Creations into the current Crafty Boots Challenges.

New Home Card

Good morning

My cousin, who has lived in her home for something like 40 years, has been forced to move because the area is to be re-developed.  It has taken her a while but she has eventually found somewhere she really likes and it is just around the corner from her brother and his wife.

This lovely house is one of three 'Tall Houses' digital stamps from Mo's Digital Pencil.  After colouring it with Promarkers I mounted it on Silver mirri and green glittered card.  The backing papers are both from Papermania.  The fence die is from Memory Box and the peel offs are from my stash.

Pearls in My Hair

Good morning, I hope you are well and ready for the new week.  It has been  fabulous weekend here, I hope that the sun also shone on you.

We have a new challenge starting at Crafty Boots Challenges today.  The theme for the next two weeks is 'Feathers' and it was chosen by the delightful Sara.

For my DT piece I wanted to make something incorporating real feathers but I could not find any for sale until last week and unfortunately they have not arrived in time to use on my card.  Perhaps I will use them on another project later in the week.

However, the late arrival of the feathers has given me the opportunity to use one of my all time favourite stamps.  The image is called Pearls in My Hair and it is from A Day for Daisies.

This image is such a delight to colour, I used copic pens, and I added some small flat backed gems where the pearls are supposed to be.

I mounted the image on red glitter card and some silver card.  The polka dot papers are from Papermania.  The ribbon is from my stash.

Please take the time to look at the Crafty Boots Challenges website and all of the lovely projects the rest of the Design Team have made.

Letter S

Hi

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog, I really appreciate all of the comments I receive.

Today I wanted to show you another decorated MDF letter.

These letters are so simple to make and they make great gifts.  I purchased an 8 inch letter from Barry on ebay.  I gave it a coat of Gesso and, once that was dry, I painted it baby pink using acrylic paint.  I also purchased a bag of mixed pink buttons from ebay and used these to cover the painted letter.  Once everything was dry I cleaned any excess glue from the surface.

Prima Doll Tails

On Monday I promised you more Prima Doll ATCs.

Here is the other set I made last weekend, I have called this set 'Tails'.  You can find the ATCs bearing their 'heads' here.

As with the other set, I coloured the background with Ranger distress inks and the paper scraps and flat backed gems came from my stash.

Lots of very fiddly cutting out and I will admit that it took me a very long time to make these ATCs  ... but it was immense fun.

Prima Doll Heads

Hi everyone

Oh I have been having so much fun with my new Prima Doll stamps and it is all thanks a Christmas present from my dear friend Lisette as she bought me my first one.

This weekend I have made two sets of ATC from the six stamps I currently have.  The set I would like to share with you today I have decided, for obvious reasons, to call heads.

It is fairly self evident how I made them, I coloured the background with Ranger distress inks.  The paper scraps and flat backed gems came from my stash.

A big thank you to my sister for donating her dictionary, goodness knows what she is going to do now when she needs to look up a word!

Please pop by later in the week to see the other set or you can link to them here.

Blue Butterfly Baby

Hello

I hope you are well?

As my regular visitors know, my friends and family have been increasing the population recently.  It is wonderful to have all of these new babies around to fuss over and cuddle.  I have been busy with my knitting needles and making cards.

This little sweetie is Butterfly Baby from Saturated Canary.

I colored the image with Promarkers and layered it with gold mirri card, blue glitter card and papers from a Forever Friends stack.

The teddy charm and twine came from my stash.

I also knitted a couple of my favourite cardie patterns for our latest arrival but as mum and dad did not want to know his sex before he arrived I did both in white.

Going Green

Good morning, I hope today finds you well.

We have a new challenge starting at Crafty Boots Challenges today. The theme for the next two weeks is 'Green' and it was chosen by dear friend and teamie, the very talented Lisette.

Lisette would like you to show her your green projects or, if you prefer, something with a St Patrick's Day design.

In England not many people send St Patrick's Day cards so  I decided to make a green card.

I love this Stampin' Up Swallowtail Butterfly stamp, it is so versatile.

I stamped it twice and cut one copy out and stuck one wing down and lifted the other up to give the impression that the butterfly is leaving the card.  I then mounted the butterfly on gold and matching green card.

The rest of the Design Team have been very busy making projects to inspire you, please take a look at the Crafty Boots Challenges page and good luck with your entries.
