Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Hubble Bubble .........

Hi and a spooktacular evening to all.

Have you been out Tick or Treating.  I have bee having a wonderful time with all of the children in their costumes knocking at my door.

Earlier today I carved my pumpkins.  I was pleased with the results but they do not compare very well with some of those truly amazing pumpkins you see on Pintrest.

Happy Frog

The Ghost

Goldfish

I hope you are having a great evening, whatever you are doing.

Witchy Waitress

Happy Halloween.

Thank you for dropping by today.

I wanted something special to share with you today, and I think I have found it.  This gorgeous Saturated Canary image is caller 'Witchy Waitress'.

After colouring the image with Promarkers I added some Glossy Accents to the glassware and button.

I then mounted it on silver mirri and some hot pink glittered card.  I then covered the card in more glittered card but this one is a slightly lighted shade of pink.  The sentiment is one of three which came with the image and the ribbon is from my stash.

Happy Trick or Treating tonight.

Witchkeys

Good morning

One of my all time favourite images is 'Witchkeys' by Saturated Canary, last year I made several cards with it, so this time I wanted to try something different.

I thought I would try paper piecing.  The parts of the image which I did not piece, I coloured with Promarkers.  I mounted the finished image on some silver mirri.

The gorgeous purple backing paper is a freebie from Bearly Mine.  I also added a pumpkin charm and some ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.

I know that strictly speaking the Crafty Boots Halloween Challenge is over but I made so many samples I could post one a day for the next week, or maybe two!

The card I have to share with you today features another Saturated Canary digital image called 'Fast Food Fly By'.

After colouring the image with Promarkers, I mounted it on silver mirri and some outrageous purple glittered card.  The lacy spider's web backing paper is a freebie from Crafticious.  The ribbon was from my stash.

Autumn

Good morning.

Phew, what a night.  We had a very wet and VERY windy night last night, but hopefully, the worse of this bad weather is now passed - I did not get a lot of sleep and am feeling like a zombie this morning.  I think it is safe to say that the summer is defiantly over.

A new challenge starts on Crafty Boots Challenges today, chosen by the very talented Zoe, the theme is Autumn, you can take as your theme anything to do with autumn, the colours, or objects such as pumpkins or bonfires.

I have chosen the falling leaves as depicted in this lovely Sylvia Zet digital image, this stamp is actually called Autumn Happiness.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and Wink of Stella pens.  I then mounted it on silver mirri and some lush green glittered card.

I used a couple of X Cut punches to make my autumn leaves and another Martha Stuart punch to make the green fronds.  I added some red flat backed gems from my stash.  The fabulous backing paper is a freebie from Bearly Mine.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Challenges Design Team have been very busy making some inspirational pieces, so please pop by and take a look.

I am looking forward to seeing your projects.  Good luck.

Vampire Pumpkin - Take II

Good morning fellow bloggers.

I know that the weather forecast is for some pretty dreadful weather here but right now I am enjoying some glorious sunshine but I fear it will not last.

I have another Halloween card to share with you today, I used this adorable image last week, but thought it made such a lovely card for a boy, that I had to used it again to send to my nephew.

This little vampire is a Saturated Canary digital stamp called Vampire Pumpkin.  After colouring my little vampire with Promarkers  I mounted it on mirri card and cut a step card using a template.  The fabulous backing paper is a freebie from Bearly Mine.  I also added some more of those lush baby pumpkins and a plastic spider from my stash.

Small Boo Bees

Hi

I hope you are enjoying the weekend.  The weather forecast here is not good so I plan to spend the weekend at home making more Halloween cards.

But first I have another Breast Cancer Awareness card to share with you.

This is another McMahon Five Design freebie image called BOO Bees, these are the small version of the image I posted last Sunday.

I wanted to make my bee ghosts fly, so after mounting the pre-coloured image onto silver mirri card, I attached each to a strip of acetate.  I covered the card with some pretty pink glittered card.   The sentiment came with the stamp set and the ribbon is from my stash.

Halloween Poem - Take II

Good morning

Last week I shared with you a card featuring a  'Frame It' image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and is called Halloween Poem.

I have created another card today using the same image.  However, as I wish to send this card through the post, I have challenged myself to try to keep it as flat as possible to save on postage charges.

I tried to colour the background of the Frame It pale blue but unfortunately, the ink has smudged a little.  I used Promarkers to colour the image and I mounted the finished image on silver mirri and then on blue glittered card.

The ribbon and pumpkin charm were from my stash.

Big Boo Bee

I hope that you are enjoying a great weekend.  It is a bit wet here but at least it is not freezing cold.

Today I have another Breast Cancer Awareness card to share with you and I have dedicated this card to my friend, Mrs Beez - for rather obvious reasons.

This is another McMahon Five Design freebie image called BOO Bees.  I just love those eyes!

I mounted the pre-coloured image onto some silver mirri card and then on some shocking pink glitttered card.  Finally, I added some flat backed gems to the antenna and some pink ribbon from my stash.

Inside the card I added the sentiment 'BEE sure to check those BOO BEES'.

Breast Cancer Awareness

The other day I mentioned that I had planned to post a number of cards to coincide with Lisette's challenge - 'Sweet Treats', but that unfortunately I had missed the proverbial boat.

This was another of those cards.

As you probably know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I could not resist the freebees currently on offer from McMahon Five Designs.

I thought that these little cup cakes would be perfect for the 'Sweet Treat' challenge and, at the same time, I could do my bit to raise awareness of breast cancer.

Th toppers are pre-coloured, so the cards are very quick to make.  I mounted the topper on silver mirri and added a doily to my pink pearlised background card.  Finally I added a pink bow.

I am off to make some more of these cards like this to send to friends and family.

Toffee Apple Time

A couple of weeks ago it was my friend Lisette's turn to pick the theme of the Crafty Boots Challenge, which was Sweet Treats.  I had planned to make several cards to post during the challenge but what with one thing and another it never happened, sorry Lisette.

This is one of the cards I had planned to make.

I came across the template for this toffee apple on Pintrest, which led me to Lynn Pratt's blog

After colouring the apple and the toffee part with Promarkets and sticking them together, I covered it all with Glossy Accents and put it aside to dry.  Once it was past the tacky stage I attached the lolly pop stick.

I do have a Halloween connection with this project, I intend to send it to my small nephew to invite him to help me carve pumpkins next week.  Must catch the post.

Good morning fellow bloggers and a very special welcome to anyone who has found there way here from the Crafty Boots Challenges site.

Butterflies and Buttons

Hi

Today I am back with another project featuring butterflies to help my friend Mrs Beez raise awareness of the work of the charity Amy and Friends.  Amy and Friends supports children suffering from Cockayne Syndrome.  The butterfly is the symbol they use to represent those whose lives have been cut short by this illness.  Mrs Beez hopes to raise awareness of the disease and the work of Amy and Friends through her blog.  So please visit her blog and find out more about this important charity.

I have something a little different to share with you today, that is, something a little different for me.

I started with a large MDF 'D'.  I first gave it a coat of Gesso, followed by a coat of white acrylic paint.  Once the paint was dry I covered the surface with white buttons, as you can see.  Finally, I added some small Petaloo flowers and a Marianne Design swallowtail butterfly.

Butterfly Fairy

Hi

I still cannot resist putting butterflies on the odd card.  I really like this image from A Day for Daisies, called Butterfly Fairy and oh look, there is a butterfly.

This is a simple easel card.  The daisy paper is from a Forever Friends stack.

The lace butterfly die is a Cheery Lynn design, which I backed with black glitter card.

I layered the image with silver mirri and blue pearl card and I added 3 flat backed gems from my stash.

As I coloured the image with Promarkers I noticed how striking the fairy was with white hair, so I left it uncoloured and shaded the background to make it pop.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
