Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Baby Girl

Good morning fellow bloggers.

I hope that your week is going well, I have to say that I have been having a particularly fine time at the moment.  The past couple of days I have been happily crafting.

The current Crafty Boots Challenges theme is babies, there are so many wonderful baby stamps around, I just had to play with one or two of them.

This image from Mo's Digital Pencil is called Babygirl S, isn't she a little cutie?

I was inspired to get my punches out by my friend Michaela.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and punched around the page using Martha Stewart punches.

The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the pearls, ribbon and papers are from my stash.

Happy Birthday Don

Hi

It is my very dear friend Don's birthday today, I hope he is having a terrific day.

This adorable stamp is from Lili of the Valley and it is called Sailing Boat.

I coloured the stamp with Promarkers and added some Glossy Accents to the keel.  I mounted the image on silver mirri card and secured it with some red brads with white polka dots.

The paper are from the Joanna Sheen CD Messy Rabbit and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  The yacht charm and polka dot ribbon were from my stash.

Welcome Little One

Hi, welcome to my blog.

There is a new challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges this morning, isn't it amazing how quickly this special Monday's come around? This week the title of the challenge is Babies, this theme was chosen by the very lovley Kerry.

There are so many gorgeous baby images available and I found it so hard to choose one, but I eventually went this this lovely Teddy Bo & Co stamp is called Rock a Bye Baby.

I enjoyed colouring this image so much I did it twice, once in pink and once in blue .... well not everyone knows the sex of their baby in advance and I like to be prepared.

I coloured the images with Promarkers and layered it with my Nesties using silver mirri card and glitter card. The papers and ribbon were from my stash.

Why not pop over to the Crafty Boots Challenges site and see the inspirational projects the other Design Team members have come up with and whilst you are there, don't forget to enter your own work into the challenge. I look forward to seeing your projects.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, any comments you leave are appreciated.

Happy Birthday Nicola

Hi

I hope that you are having a good weekend.

A couple of days ago it was my Nicola's birthday.  As a teenager Nicola was very serious about her martial arts and I could not resist this image from Mo's Digital Pencil when I saw it.  The image is called Karate Girl.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on gold mirri card.  The paper is by Dovecraft and I the polka dot ribbon came from Joanna Sheen.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Bingo

Good morning to all of my blogging friends and, as ever, a very special welcome to anyone who has found themselves here via the Crafty Boots Challenges site.

Time is flying by and today sees another new challenge start at Crafty Boots Challenges.  The theme for this challenge has been set by the very talented Denise and she has set us a bingo challenge.

If you are unfamiliar with bingo challenges, the dea is to use the 'elements' that are in a line: either vertical (ie Green, Pearls and Yellow) horizontal (ie Yellow, Dots and Lace) or diagonal (ie Ribbons, Stripes and Yellow). You can also choose to use the 4 corners or go for the 'full house' which would mean using all the 'elements' on the project.

I chose to use the bottom line of Yellow, Dots, Lace for my card.

This gorgeous image is from Mo's Digital Pencil and is called Ragged Romeo.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri before adding the lace and backed it all with yellow glitter card.  Sadly my photograph does not show how lovely this lace is.

The lace and flowers came from Wild Orchid Crafts and the backing paper is by Dovecraft.  I also added a few yellow pearls up in one corner.

Please spend some time looking at the fabulous creations the other Crafty Boots Challenge  Design Team Members have made and don't forget to enter the challenge yourself.

Have a great week.

It's a Kind of Magic!

The weekend is here at last, whoo hoo!

I have a very quick card to share with you this morning.  I have recently been sharing with you the LOTV stamps I bought Ali Pali and this is another sweetie, the stamp is called Abracadabra!.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri and paper, glitter card from my stash.  The butterfly dies are from Memory Box and the flourish is a Marianne Creatable die called Garden Branch.  I added a few flat backed gems to form the bodies of the butterflies.

Whatever you are doing this weekend, have a great time.

Chilling Out

Good morning.

Today it is Stephanie-Emma's birthday.  Big, big whoop and breakout the bubbly and cake.

I wanted something special for her card and it took me ages to find the image I wanted.  I love the House-Mouse range of stamps and this one seemed to say relax and enjoy your special day.  This stamp is one of the Parasol stamps from the Summer Range.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on silver mirri and sand coloured glitter card.  The backing papers came from the Joanna Sheen House-Mouse CD.

Have a great day Stephanie-Emma, today is your day.

Simply Isn't Cricket!

Good morning

You may have noticed that it has been a while since my last post.  This was because I have been laid up for the past week with a wretched cough and cold, I am sure you know exactly what it is like.  I still have the cough, but I am on the mend and have started crafting again. I will catch up on visiting everyone's blogs in the next couple of days to see what you have all been up to.

Over at Crafty Boots Challenges the current theme is sport, it can be any sport you like or something more general along the sporting theme, like the Olympics.  Whatever you choose we are eager to see your designs.  I have made a birthday card for my brother-in-law who, like most of the men I know, likes almost all sports.

This cute little chap is from LOTV and is called Ooops! It is another of the stamps I got from Ali Pali earlier this year.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and applied Glossy Accents to the broken vase and water to add some dimension.  I then mounted the image on gold mirri and some lush dark green glitter card.  The backing paper is from the Joanna Sheen Messy Rabbit CD.  I then added some red buttons and glittery stars, the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.
