Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

A Few More Scrapbook Pages

Here are a few pages from the first large scrapbook I have completed.  It was made to celebrate my best friend's birthday (it was on of those birthday with a 0 on it.  Shhhh!).

Wedding Scrapbook

Many, many years ago I was heavily into cross stitch and tapestry, but sadly the eyesight is not what it use to be and I started to find it difficult to work with 32 hpi fabric. Recently my fabulous hubby treated me to an OttLite for Christmas and it has been wonderful to rediscover my passion for this hobby.

However, about the time the eyesight started to deteriorate, whenever I was wondering around craft fairs, I found myself gravitating towards the rubber stamps and embossing powders, and the next thing I knew I was stamping and making my own cards.

More recently I have got into scrapbooking.  I particularly enjoy making scrapbooks of one-off events, like a special birthday or a wedding.  I have made a number of albums as presents for friends.  I should love to make wedding scrapbooks professionally, but I doubt that anyone would believe how much I spend on some of the embellishments!

I thought I would share with you some of the pages from an album I made of a close friend's wedding, I hope you like them.

I have three other albums in progress so there may be more scrapbook pages in the future.

The Fisherman

Needed a very quick male card.

The image and backing paper for this card came from the new Forever Friends Retro CDs.  I mounted the image on some silver holographic card  as well as some light blue pearlised card.  The card was finished with a few Craftwork Cards Card Candi and a silver sentiment.

Wedding Invitation

I made these invitations for a friend's wedding.

The image came from a Forever Friends CD, which I mounted this on silver mirri board and purple pearlised card.  The backing parchment paper has small white hearts on and I backed this with more silver mirri board and wrapped purple ribbon around.  It was finished with 3 purple flat backed gems.

Pink Teddy

This card is very similar to the Lemon Teddy I posted earlier.  I did this one in pink for my friend Stephanie-Emma's birthday.

Lemon Teddy

Back with another card!!

This one I made using an image from one of Debbi Moore's 'Stitch' CDs.

I used acetate to create the easel part of the card and mounted it onto yellow glitter card and silver mirri board.  I used a
Spellbinders Nestability die to cut some Centura Pearl card to put behind the teddy and then used a Happy Birthday sentiment from Kanban Crafts to hold up the easel.

Thanks for looking!

Purple Thank You

I had no problem deciding which card I wanted to be the first on my blog.

For this card I used the 'Be Neighbourly' stamp set by Polka Doodles and I coloured the image with Promarkers.

I mounted it onto purple glitter card and then silver card and added a 'Thankyou' sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

Thank you for looking at my blog, I hope you like the card!
