Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Better Late than Never

Have you noticed how crafting eventually has an impact on your life in all sorts of ways.  For instance, I have started to select my wall calendar by how well I can up-cycle them into birthday cards.

Back in January I did this to last year's calendar but I have so much to post at the moment and I am only now getting around to sharing some of these cards with you.  I have to say that, as a lover of the Art Nouveau and Art Decco styles, I really enjoyed these images on the calendar and now I get to enjoy them all over again as cards.

I have utilised every bit of the calendar - even the sneaky peek pics from the back of the calendar, which show you what is inside.  The following three cards will give you a sneaky peek of what the rest of the cards are going to look like ......

The backing papers are all from the Crafter's Companion Vintage Butterflies pad.  The pearlescent card is also from Crafter's Companion, the gold metallic card is from my stash, as are the sentiments.

I hope you have enjoyed this little glimpse into the future - te he!

I'll be back soon with the other cards I made from this calendar.

    1. Thank you Carol. I really enjoy upcycling my calendars, they do not leave much room for self expression but they do look a lot more like the style of card you would buy ... and I suspect more appealing to the recipients! Lol.

    4. Hi Carol

Thank you for trying to help me, but I still cannot find it - in fact I cannot even find a reading list. I have compared our blogs and they look the same but there are tiny differences which leads me to wonder whether they are different 'brands'.

However, it has made me look closer at my layout and makes me realise that I need to edit my page as there are a lot of closed websites there. So sad to realise how many have gone now!

      Thank you.

  2. I think you have broken my blog Lisette. You had a lovely time catching up with all of my recent posts but your last comment has not saved to the blog - I know you wrote a comment because I received an email notification. Rather than trouble you to write your comment again, I have copied and pasted it ........

"These are brilliant. Beautiful designs but so clever for how you've recycled your calendar xxx"

    1. Thank you for leaving such a lovely comment my friend. Just wait until you see the full size pictures on their cards. I had very little to do to make them look quite stunning.

A big thank you for all of the craft materials. As you can see, I have been putting them to good use.

    1. Thank you Faith. I am only just getting back into card making. After years of card making and working on the Crafty Boots Design Team for some years I felt burnt out. But I am enjoying myself just making a few simple cards.
