Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Big Cushions for Little People

So, I thought I would make some elf sized cushions, using some left over ends of yarn.

No pattern or anything, I just winged it!

I have a new elf to introduce today.  I am delighted to bring to you Arlan the Elf.  He is the most recent addition to my best friend's household.

Upon arriving the first thing he did was to help put together her special Advent jigsaw puzzle (each day a stand-up piece of the puzzle is added).

Apparently the reindeer are on strike at the North Pole and Arlen has spent he first few days here interviewing replacements

As you can see, the whole process has exhausted him and he is spending today in bed.

These elves do not have the stamina of the elves of my day.

Daisy the Elf went to see Santa with the girls yesterday - but she is back today and up to mischief.

    1. I think my favouite is the unicorn. Apparently whilst Arlen has been away someone has taken his car, if fear that it is probably chopped up and shipped abroad by now.

      Have a good day.

  2. This is brilliant. I was bowled over by the reindeer and sleigh but then all those replacements - so funny and cute. I think the sheep looks like a solid worker but oh, the fun of having a peacock! Now for those cushions- amazing and can you guess my favourite?! Pink AND a bee, no brainer but I do think the 25 is super stylish. Absolutely loving this advent-ure. X

    1. I noticed last year that the elves very quickly became the talking point and not whatever it was that I had made. No pretense this year, it has been straight in comments on these funny little elves, and this time I have three elf families contributing, so lots going on.

The plan had been to only blog them when they were wearing something I had made put everyone seems to enjoy ther antics as much a me.

PS Knew you would enjoy the bee on the cushion.
