Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Christmas Jumpers

Now here's a thing. I have been so busy making my Christmas cards that I forgot that I needed to photograph them in order to share them with you.

So, today I have a Christmas jumper and hat to share. This pattern is one of my ebay discoveries and it does not show the pattern make or number but I am fairly confident that it is a Sidar pattern because it recommends using Snuggly yarn. I actually made it in King Cole Cherish Double Knit.

I have not done a lot of cable stitch but I am quite pleased with how this turned out.

Here is a close up of the yoke.

And there was a matching hat.  How cute is that?

It seems that my small nephew is not the only one with a Christmas jumper and matching hat.  Daisy and Danny have their own.

It looks like they have bought the children a gift tonight and a challenge to build a snowman.  I wonder if we will get to see the end result?

Now, what Coco and Louis are up to in the other house this evening .......

They have a chimney stuffed with presents.  What do you think the presents contain?

I hope no one lights a fire in the grate below!

It looks they have been two very busy elves.

I promise to get some of this cards photographed for tomorrow.

  1. Beautiful knitting as always! The hat is super cute. Daisy and Danny look very smart in theirs too. I hope we get to see the snowman. We had the real deal in Sheffield overnight. A good sprinkling that's hanging around, but not enough to bring everything grinding to a halt. You could probably just about manage to make an elf sized snowman though! But if they don't fix our water supply soon, we may have to boil some snow to get a cuppa! Love the pile of presents, I wonder what's inside? xx

    1. Many thanks Mrs Beez, I was quite pleased with my cable knitting, I think this was either my first or second attempt and there were not too many mistakes.

Luckily I have just recieved a photogaraph of the snowman, I will add it to the post in the morning. I had to go out today so I still haven't photographed any cards for tomorrow's post. Luckily no snow here yet but it was dreadfully cold. I am pleased to be back home now.

Take care when you go out.

    1. It's been bitterly cold here too and I've just seen the forecast for the weekend. Hope you do not have to go out, stay home and keep warm.

I've still not taken any photos for tomorrows post. I had better tidy up and get my camer out - otherwise there will be no elf news in the morning.

    1. Thank you Faith. Since standing down from my old design team, I have not been making quite so many cards and took up knitting to fill the time, but I am still leaning all the stitches and I found cable especially difficult.

Louis and Coco are being very good at the moment because the little girl got very upset by the naughtiness of the bad elves.
