Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Vintage Chevy

As you know, the current challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is 'Masculine Cards'.

This is never a favourite theme for me, I find it so hard to find images I like for me.  Well, that is until I discovered Delicious Doodles.  They have got some amazing images for the men in your life.

This Vintage Chevy image is one of my favourites.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and mounted it on some silver mirri and navy blue card.

The paper is from Studio Calico and the card candy and sentiment are both from Craftwork Cards.  I believe this is probably enough decoration for a masculine card, most of the ones I know would not appreciate a fussy card.  What do you think?

    1. Thank you Desire, I have a brother-in-law this card would be perfect for - he collects old cars ... he does not have a Chevy so he called his cat Chevy instead!

  2. You're doing a great job on "masculine cards". I'll admit girly cards are easier for me to make. The vintage chevy is so nice and it's perfect for this theme.

    1. Oh me too, girlie cards are so much easier. It is only since I discovered Delicious Doodles that I have been able to 'do' men. I use these images over and over.

      Have a great weekend.

  3. Fabulous. Love the background paper you have used with the matted and layered image. Now you've got me singing ...drove the chevvy to the levee and the levee was dry.... xx

    1. Thank you. I think that paper is great for motoring images, it reminds me of skids and gravel. Sadly, that was my last sheet.

I guess I deserve that song I now have in my head.

    1. Funnily enough, I have been colouring this image this evening, I thought I would see what it looked like done in pencils.

      Have a great weekend.
