Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The Little Mermaid

Good morning and welcome to Day 2 of my personal challenge to post a card every day for the duration of the current Crafty Boots Challenges, the theme of which is inspired by Children's Stories.

My card today was inspired by the Hans Christian Anderson story of the  Little Mermaid.

I have had this sweet little image by Sylvia Zet for some time but have never used it before, it is called Goldie.  I coloured the image with a combination of Promarkers and Wink of Stella pens. I added Glossy Accents to her tail and to the bubbles.

I then mounted it on some gold patterned mirri board and glittered papers.  The backing papers come from a Docrafts Tatty Teddy paper stack and DoveCraft.  I have had the turtle charm is actually an old brooch and the ticket is one of the Ranger range.

I hope you are having as much fun as I am making cards for this challenge, don't forget to enter them into the Crafty Boots Challenge.

Good luck.
