Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.
I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!
Thank you for visiting my blog.

Crafty Boots Challenges 1st Anniversary
It is hard to believe but it really is the first anniversary of the Crafty Boots Challenges, which means that I have been sharing my work with you for just over a year. Wow, that time has gone by so fast.
There is a new challenge today to celebrate this special milestone. The theme is ONE. One what is entirely up to you - one colour, one element, the number one, one layer.
I have chosen a cross stitch embroidery of one teddy bear, balancing the number one on his foot.
I stitched this design on 14 count aida.
This is from a very old and much loved collection of designs called Honey Pots. I have been making these bears for 15-20 years. I first made them for my nieces and nephews and now I am making them for their children.
The charts are very dog-eared and the staples no longer keep all the pages in the book. I am sure this will not the last time you will see these cute teddy bears on my blog and I hope you will grow to love them as much as I do.
The rest of the design team have been working very hard to come up with some amazing projects to celebrate this anniversary so please make sure you go to the Crafty Boots Challenges blog and see them for yourself. Whilst you are there make sure you enter this challenge.
