Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Little Bears

We are back in Lockdown again! All this time on my hands and I need to keep busy. When we were in Lockdown last year I spent a lot of my time making face masks for my family but I think they all have more than enough now, so now I am able to return to my knitting.

Sarah, who runs Knitables, designs the patterns, makes the models, runs the website, answers the emails etc, etc, donates a percentage of the money she receives from the sale of her patterns to various charities. On top of that, she has designed a pattern of a little teddy bear in scrubs, which she gives for free to any of her customers who are willing to make it as a 'Thank you' teddy to show their gratitude to our amazing NHS and all the key workers on the frontline.

I have made two of these little bears and they are ready to go to their new forever homes once we are allowed out again and I can deliver them.

These teddies are ridiculously cute, their clothes (well except the hats) are integral to their bodies and therefore do not come off.

The pattern also includes a face mask and a stethoscope.

I wanted to give you a sense of their size and you can see them here with a few of the other Knitables I have made.

Have a good day and stay safe.

    1. Aren't they? And because of their size, and you do not make their clothes separately, they are so quick to make. Would you believe that my biggest problem is finding suitable children to give them to. Obviously I do not move in the right circles!

      Stay safe.

    1. Thank you Carol. They are super cute but there faces are very different. I am thinking of making a couple more because they are quick and easy to make, just wish I could get out there to find some children to give them to - my problem is that they have to be the children of front line workers. I have a friend who could pass them on but it is getting to see her ... I have not seen her for a year now. #missingmyfriends.
