Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

More Advent Fun

Earlier today I shared some of the photographs I took of the Advent boxes I made for my friend. However, they are not the only Advent Calendars I have put together for this year and here are two more.

The gift inside the first parcel is a festive face mask made from gingerbread men and snowflake fabric.

I did not make boxes for this calendar, instead I made drawer string bags out of some lovely festive fabric.

This one features gorgeous stockings, the fabric has little gold highlight in a metallic paint.

The second bag is made out of a fabric featuring pretty little Christmas fairies wearing sweet little pink dresses and waving her magic wand.

I wonder what the bags will hold for tomorrow?

THE ELVES ARE BACK!

I know that over the years many of my regular visitors have enjoyed sharing the adventures of the elves who visit my family at this time of year. Well they are back and my nieces have once again generously shared some of their photographs of their elves triumphant return.

The first to arrive last night were Louis and his girlfriend.

They arrived riding on toboggans and pulling a sleigh full of their treasures.  They seem to have bought quite a lot of snow with them from the North Pole.

I love that, before they have even unloaded the sleigh, they have brewed up and are enjoying a nice cuppa!

I wonder if they have a few practical jokes hidden in that sleigh?

I spotted that their old friend Moosey has come to say hello, perhaps he is after a biscuit!

Next to arrive was Daisy the Elf .....

I see that Daisy has bought her Elf on the Shelf story book for mum to read to the girls tonight.

And Daisy the Elf has bought treats for breakfast ......

In fact there are quite a lot of breakfast treats, enough to last the whole month. Daisy spoils those girls.

That's it for now, I'll be back later with another Advent Countdown update.

    1. Thank you. I am trying to make more festive masks for the family but my damaged shoulder is protesting quite badly so I may have to put the sewing machine away soon.

I must confess that seeing the elves arrive last night bought an enormous smile to my face and I cannot wait to see what they get up to this year..

      Take care.

    1. Makes you fancy a snack, does it?

I now have about 30 Christmas themes fabrics, some are only small samples now but I am doing my best to make all my family three or four masks to use this month.
