Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Birthday Girl

I was recently tidying my crafting space and came across several boxes of kit cards.  They have probably been stacked in that corner for something like ten years.  About that time I joined a design team and stopped using kit cards.  It seems such a waste to leave them in the corner, so I pulled a handful of sheets out and made a couple of cards.

I have these sheets so long I cannot really remember where I got them from but , if I had to guess, I would probably say that I bought them from C&C .... or QVC.

After pressing out the components from the sheet, and putting my design together, I added some flat backed gems, ribbon and a sentiment from my stash.  Quick and easy to make - and the person I sent it to actually argued with me because she was convinced that it was a shop bought card.  Sometimes I wonder why I bother!

  1. Beautiful card Dionne love the decoupaged flower-that is exactly why at Christmas I only send handmade cards to immediate family all those who wouldn't appreciate the effort get bought ones and no guilt felt lol.

    1. Thank you Carol. My cousin was actually 'complaining' that I had not made her a card this year and would not believe me when I said that I had made it. The oddest thing was that her clincher was that the card had an insert saying Happy Birthday .... but I always add an insert!

It was fun doing an decoupage element, it's been a long time. I think I am going enjoy making some more of these kit cards.

  2. Such a pretty card. As always with your cards it's the finishing touches that take them to a whole different level. X
