I know, I know, it's been a while since I posted anything but I thought that you would all welcome a rest from me following the deluge of posts I made at the end of last year. However, I have not been idle, during my absence I have been knitting like an automaton.
There is a lot of excitement around here with not one, but two, new babies on the way and that is the only excuse I need to get the baby knitting patterns out. Mind you, I feel obliged to warn you that there is likely to be a surplus of baby bits in my immediate blogging future.
If you have ever given any of my baby projects more than a passing glace you will most probably recognise this pattern. I make it for every new baby who comes along, it is a real favourite of mine.
I always think that tiny babies look adorable in white, well at least for ten minutes! The pattern is practically ancient, the design is an old Robin one - the pattern number is 2496.
This time I actually remembered to try to get a close up of the design, so you can see the mock cable stitch, it really is easy to make.
I went a little mad and adapted a bootie pattern to incorporate the mock cable stitch from the cardigan. This is my first attempt at knitting booties, but more of that another day.
I shall be back in a day or two with more to share with you.

Thank you Carol. I know I am old fashioned but I'm not big fan of the popular garish colours for new borns.
DeleteThe knitting takes me quite a bit longer than the paper crafting but I do have a bit of a backlog of knitted projects to share.
Have a great weekend.
