Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Lucy's Little Monkey

Do you ever wonder why you do something? Well, if I ever doubt myself over why I make the Little Cotton Rabbit ranfe of animals, the look on my small niece’s face when she opened her birthday present, left me in no doubt. She was super excited with her 'Teddy Bear Monkey', as she insisted on calling it. For the rest of the afternoon she spoke to her new friend in their own monkey language, cuddled her and she sang to her for ages.

'Monkey Girl' is one of Julie William's patterns from her 'Little Cotton Rabbits' range, which is available from Ravelry.

The little monkey is made with the softest alpaca Double Knit wool and the briefs and shoes are made with cotton 4 ply yarn.

Our little monkey even has a prehensile tail to help her balance whilst swinging through the trees!

Her shoes are so sweet, they have cute little buttons to keep them on her feet.

The dress is navy and off white to match her shoes, again made in cotton 4 ply yarn.  Doesn't she look smart?

I hope you enjoyed meeting Lucy's little monkey.  Please visit again soon.

    1. It is hard not to smile back when you look at that happy face. Lucy's reaction was one of those special moments and the smile of her face mirrored that of her monkey.

      Have a great weekend.

    1. Thank you Carol. The last week or so I have been busy making extra dresses, jumpers and shorts for Lucy, so she can play dress-up with her teddy bear monkey and the teddy bear bunny I have been making her for Christmas - shhh, don't tell her!

Hope the rest of the weekend goes well for you.
