Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Easter Bunnies

Hello everyone.  First I must apologies to you all for being absent for so long.  I have not been ill or anything like that, just very, very busy knitting.  I have quite a few soft toys waiting in the wings to share with you, I just need to put the needles down long enough to write a few posts.  However, I was determined to find the time for this post this weekend because they are my Easter Bunnies.

I made one of theses for each of my small nieces, they are from the 'Little Cotton Rabbits' range of patterns, which are available from Ravelry.

I just love their fluffy white tails, a little on the large side I guess but it is hard to make very tiny pom poms.

The dress patterns are also by Julie Williams

This little bunnie already has a name, she has been called 'Raspberry' by her new owner and her mum.  The rabbits body is made from Alpaca DK by Stylecraft and her dress is made of King Cole 4 ply cotton

I found the ears were a little too large when I made them to the pattern, so this bunny has lop eared.  Her body is also Stylecraft Alpaca DK and her dress is King Cole Gaza 4 ply cotton..

My last bunny today is made from pink Stylecraft Alpaca Tweed DK and once again the dress is made from King Cole Gaza 4 ply cotton.

I hope that you have had a fabulous Easter and I apologise if I owe you an email or have not been around to your blog recently, I will try to get to you very soon.

    1. Thank you Carol, I keep changing my mind as to which is my favourite. Raspberry went to my 7 month old niece and when her mum asked her what they should call her new bunny the baby blew a raspberry!

  2. Beautiful work! These are stunning and so cute. Are they soft? They look soft. I am glad you are doing well! I haven't been on for a week either so good thing I scrolled far enough to check out your new creations. Sometimes we get busy and sometimes I like being outside more than on phones or computers haha :)

Have a great week!! Can't wait for your next creation!

    1. Thank you, you are so kind. They are made from an alpaca mix, so they are really soft (although the wool smells like wet dog if you get it damp, yuk!).

I am very busy knitting something for my niece at the moment, I have a deadline, so no time to blog what I am making, but I have two of the big bears to share with you when I find the time.

I am pleased to hear you are keeping well.

      Take care.

    2. That is so cool. There is an alpaca farm down the street from me. Super soft but agree it is not the best scent at times lol.

    3. They are so cute. A friend of mine has an alpaca farm close to where she lives and recently went on an alpaca trek. From what she said, I gather it was a it like taking your dog for a walk ... only it was an alpaca. She had a great day.

    1. Hello, it is so lovely to hear from you, I hope everything is OK? I am loving these Little Cotton Rabbits patterns, especially the bunnies. I am currently making 25 of these dresses and another 25 jumpers for one of my nieces. I feel like it is taking forever but I am slowly getting there.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend my dear friend.
