Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Nothing was Stirring, Not Even a Mouse

Hi, how was your Christmas?  Good?

I was a little bit busy in the run up to the big day and never posted some of the cards I had made, so I  have a few Christmas card to post this week.  Starting with this one.

I think this image is so cute, it is from House Mouse.  The stamp is called 'Friendly Dreams', I coloured it with F &C polychromos pencils.  The backing paper and maching sentiment came from one of my HouseMouse CDs.

The glittery purple snowflakes were cut with my new Cheery Lynn snowflake die and the sparkly silver washi tape was from my stash.  The ribbon and little jingle bells were Advent gifts, my friend knows me so well.

Have a great week.

    1. Thank you, this is the card I sent to my husband, He really likes a Robin on his Christmas cards (a bird with red breast feathers which we associate with Christmas), but I did not have one and, as he has a great love for cats, this seemed the natural choice for him.

We have had several cats over the years but we are currently pet-less.

  2. Fabulous image and love how you coloured the fur-I sooo struggle with fur--we currently have two cats mine and due to son and daughter moving back home now have two dogs/two rabbits/two bearded dragons/one lizard and four hamsters!!!

    1. Thank you Carol. I think using pencils really helps with the fur. Also, I found not overdoing it helped a lot, I coloured all of the fur on a previous version and it just looked a mess, so it went in the bin and I started again.

You are making me feel very guilty about not having any pets at the moment.
