Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Happy Hopper

Earlier this week I mentioned that we are expecting two babies over the next few weeks.  I have been busy with my knitting needles in anticipation of them both but, despite knowing in advance the sex of both babies, I had not had the time to make any cards.

The inevitable happened, the opportunity to see the first of the babies to arrive and no card.  I needed to whip up a card in the fastest time, so I resorted to raiding my old CD collection.  I decided on an image from the House Mouse clan - one of the Happy Hoppers.

With no colouring and the sentiment and papers coming as part of the design suggestions, it took no time to put together this card.

Here are the little cardigans I made for the new baby.  Judging by the size of him, they should fit him in the winter - I hope they keep him nice and warm.

  1. Oh my gosh, love that image! You don't always have to spend the time colouring, I think the pre-coloured images can be very beautiful and sweet. Love your sweaters, the parents must have been over the moon to get such lovely gifts!! hugs :)

    1. Thank you Pamellia. There was a time when I would not dream of colouring a stamped image, I always bought kits or CDs - in fact my spare room is full of half used kits..... I suppose I should either use them up or throw them away, they are just taking up precious space.

    1. Thank you, it was a bit of a panic with the card and upon reflection this was possibly not the best image. It's supposed to be a baby bunny but, with the pacifier in it's mouth, I think it has the look of a pig. Some parents might be a little offended! Lol.

      Have a good week.

    1. Thank you. The card was so easy to make, it felt like I was cheating. I guess the time I spent making the cardigans helped balance things out, haha!
