Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Queen for a Day

Apologies for the lateness of this post.  I started to write it earlier when my laptop was hijacked by Windows 10.  I had just loaded the photographs when a pop-up appeared saying the laptop was re-starting to complete the installation of Windows 10.  I have been declining the free upgrade for months on the grounds that I have never had an upgrade which did not upset half my settings.  I have no idea how it managed to gain access to my system but now I have to deal with the fall out, it took hours to install and I have already found three things it has changed.

Back to the card I wanted to share with you today.  As most of you will know, the current Crafty Boots Challenge  is 'Queens, Princesses and Crowns'

This little cutie is 'Sweet Tooth - Let them Eat Cake' from Tiddly Inks.  I coloured the image with Promarkers, added some faux pearls to the hem of the dress, some glitter to the crown and candles and then mounted it on red card and some silver mirri.

The backing paper is from my stash and the sentiment was part of the Tiddly Inks set.

Have a good evening.

  1. I do not like Windows 10 either! Always updating and changes everything and I have to revert it back to the original. I don't like when things change on me. This card is so cute, I think it is really creative. Great job!

  2. Love this image and it looks fabulous in the colours you have chosen and the paper you have teamed it with. The pearls are fab too.
I've yet to meet anyone who thinks Windows 10 is a good idea! xx

    1. Thank you. There are some designers, like Krista Smith and Sylvia Zet, where I can always do the hair perfect and there are others, like Tiddly Inks and a lot of the Day for Daisies designs, where no matter what I do, the hair always looks rubbish. Hair aside, they are really cute images.
