Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Fabulous at Fifty

How is your week going?  It has turned very cold here, yesterday we had hailstones and snow.  I am sure the weather is gearing up for a spectacular weekend because we have a Bank Holiday in the UK. One of my sisters was born on 11 April and I remember getting up one year to find think snow on the ground on her birthday but I do not remember it being this bad so close to May.

Whilst we cogitate on whether we need to get the flannel out of storage again, let us think of happier things, like the current Crafty Boots Challenge ... Monochrome.  As the lovely Crafty Boots ladies agree with my old art teacher that black, white and all shades of grey are shades and not a colour, I have been experimenting with single colour cards.

I used a Presscut Center Stepper die to make the card blank, the panel dies are also included in the set.  The panels are cut from blue glitter card and, keeping with the glitter theme, I used the Stampin' Up balloon punch.  I made the sentiment on my computer.

Why not pop over to Crafty Boots and enter your monochrome project into the Challenge - but don't forget you only get to use one colour.

Good luck.

  1. What a great die that stepper design is. Love all the glitter and sparkle on this one, just what's needed when you reach a milestone birthday :) xx

    1. The overall card is a little on the small side for my tastes but it does take all of the hard work out of making stepper cards. They make other shaped dies, like side steppers, I think I shall get one or two more of them.

    1. Hi

Thank you for taking the trouble to leave comments, most people do not bother and I am finding it interesting to re-visit my older stuff.

It is nice sometimes not to have to get the pens out and colour a card. I have a lot of dies .... actually, between the two of us, I have a lot of craft stuff. I remember that blue card really had a lovely tinkle to it.
