Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Spring is in the Air

I am a little bit bleary eyed this morning from losing an hour's sleep this weekend, it always takes my body clock a few days to re-set.  However, the arrival of British Summer Time always heralds the arrival of spring.   The new Crafty Boots Challenge, which starts today, celebrates the start of spring - the theme for the next two weeks is 'Spring is in the Air'.

The last couple of days it has been very wet here and I suspect that April shows have blown in a few days early.  But, if you take a look about, there are plenty of signs that spring has arrived, for example it seems that there are daffodils everywhere.  A few years ago a lot of our local councils decided to prettify the roundabouts and verges by planting hundreds of daffodils, they have now multiplied and spread and now their pretty nodding heads are everywhere you go.

I think this lovely Sherbet Pip stamp is the perfect image to represent the arrival of spring, it is called 'Daffy Pip'.

I coloured little Daffy with Promarkers and mounted her on some gold mirri and Garden Green card.  The coordinated backing papers are from Stampin' Up and the sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.  The little mulberry daffodils are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Design Team have been busy little bees making pretty springtime projects, please make sure you take a look when you are there entering your projects.

Good luck.

    1. You too, oh dear. It is cold here and windy but other parts of the country are much worse. Other Crafty Boots colleagues have got up to snow and the ravages of Storm Katie.

Thank you. It has been a while since I have used my Sherbet Pip stamps but they will be making appearances over the next week or two as many of then have a spring theme.

      Keep warm my friend.
