Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

The Gordon Arms Hotel

The weekend is almost here, this week seems to have flown by, but this is probably because I have been out most days and crafting time has been a little scarce.  :(

However, I do have another Christmas card to share with you today.  As you no doubt know, the current challenge at Crafty Boot Challenges is 'Christmas in July' and I have stumbled across some wonderful wintry scenes which are just perfect for Christmas cards.

This image is from Delicious Doodles and it is called 'Snowy Stop-Over'.  I have used my F&C polychromos pencils to colour the image - these Delicious Doodles images seem to be made for pencils and I have had so much fun colouring them.

I added some twinkle to all of the snow with a clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen.  All of the papers used on this card are Papermania's First Noel pack.

I have actually made three similar Christmas cards using these papers and Delicious Doodles images, come back tomorrow and I will share another one of them with you.

  1. Wow Dee, you did such an amazing job colouring this image, I thought it was pre-coloured!! It's such a wonderful wintery scene, I'm glad you let it stand on it's own. hugs :)

    1. Hi Pamellia

I have to hold my hands up and confess that these Delicious Doodles images all are so easy to to colour, just a few colours here and there and sometimes a little more grey to make the existing shading darker. Really simple.

I discovered that the Gordon Arms Hotel is a real place, in Scotland. I think that is why I chose the tartan paper and, in truth I did not want to over dress these images, they are just too gorgeous.

    1. Thank you Lisette, I have to admit that I have really enjoyed colouring this artwork, they look like little old fashioned postcards when they are finished. I just wish you could see the sparkle better, the WoS Brush is more subtle than glitter and looks great on snow but is is rather camera shy.
