Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Butterfly with Coneflowers

It had been pretty cold and wet here this weekend with a dash of hailstones thrown in for good measure, so I thought a nice cheerful card was in order.

This fabulous image was a prize for one of the cards I entered in an Eureka Stamps Challenge, the image iss called Butterfly and Sunflowers.  That was many moons ago now but I still love this image.

I am no gardener but I think that, despite the name of the stamp, these are actually coneflowers not sunflowers.  Nonetheless I think is a beautiful image and a delight to colour.

After colouring it with Promarkers I layered it with some Stampin' Up papers, which were very kindly given to me by my dear friend Stephanie and the sentiment stamp actually belongs to her mum.

Perhaps I should explain - I recently went on a craft retreat, we took our own craft stash with us and I did not go intending to make a birthday card but, when we got there, I realised that I has forgotten to pack a card for my cousin's birthday.  Everyone was very generous with their stash and my cousin got her card.  By the way, we had a fantastic week and I got a lot made, some of which I will be sharing with you later this week.

The theme of the current Challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is 'Use a Sentiment'.  The rest of the Design Team have been busy make some fabulous samples, why not take a look.

Have a good week.

  1. I love this image and the colour of the butterfly is divine and looks great against the yellow of the flower. I would agree that this probably isn't a sunflower but my gardening knowledge is non existent - it's either grass, a rose or a flower! Therefore I have no idea what a cone flower is - I'll have to google it! xxx
