Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Sweet 16

Hi

The theme of the challenge for the next two weeks is 'Sweet 16'.  This challenge was chosen by the lovely and very talented Sandra because today is her daughter's 16th birthday.   Congratulations.

For the next two weeks Sandra and the rest of the Design Team would like to see your projects for daughters everywhere, for your children, for teenagers - and the young at heart.  We want to celebrate each and every one of them.

I had so many ideas running around my head when I saw this Challenge, it took me ages to decide which way to go - and, as I look around my work space, I can see several projects I started for this Challenge and then abandoned.  I think may go back to some and finish them, so you may see them later in the week.

In the end I decided to use a Fairydoodler stamp, from Teddy Bo and Co, which I have had some time but had never used.

The stamp is called 'Short Prom Dress'.  I paper pieced the dress and coloured the hanger with Promarkers.

The fabulous sandals are from Tattered Lace and the butterfly is a Memory Box die.

I made the little flowers with a Martha Stuart punch and then I added a little distress ink to both them and the butterfly.  I placed a small gem brad in the centre of each.

The papers are from a new Craftwork Cards paper stack called Al Fresco.

Pop over to the Craft Boots Challenges website to see how others have interpreted this Challenge and don't forget to enter your own project whilst you are there?

  1. I hoped those shoes might make an appearance and you didn't disappoint! Fabulous card - love the background paper and the paper you have used to paper piece the dress. The subtle inking of the flowers is so pretty.xx
