Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Crowning Glory

Good Morning

I hope that wherever you are the sun is shining on you today, here, in the UK, the sight of the sun is very welcome.

We have a new challenge starting at Crafty Boots Challenges today.  The theme for the next two weeks is 'Crowns'.  This theme was chosen by the gorgeous Gabrielle.

I recently treated myself to one or two (or maybe five) of Julie Nuttings Prima Doll stamps and I have been looking for an excuse to use them.

I paper pieced the dress, shoes and crown and coloured the skin and hair with Copic Pens.

I made the die cut flower from a coke can with a pearl brad at the centre.

I created the background with Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Dusty Concord.  The additional crowns are made from silver glittered card.

The rest of the Design Team have been very busy making projects to inspire you, please take a look at the Crafty Boots Challenges page and good luck.

  2. Love your tag! Your gal is gorgeous! I love to recycle coke cans too but I'm not sure I've made a flower as impressive as this! Think it's because I always cut my finger! Doh!
