Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

A Small Rabble of Butterflies

I'm a bit late with my posting today, I just don't know where the day went today.

The current challenge over at Crafty Boots Challenges is 'Pink Butterflies'.  I understand from the internet that the collective noun for a group of butterflies is a rabble. Although, some sites also list flight, swarm, flutter, kaleidoscope and rainbow. Perhaps all the alternative names stem from the disbelief that a group of butterflies could be described as a rabble.

Since I first heard about this challenge my mind has been full of ideas for projects but I confess that I have been having trouble finding the time to make them in order to share these ideas with you.  However, I had a little free time yesterday and the first project I would like to show you is a very simple card with my rabble of pink butterflies.

Using pink pearlescent card I used a Martha Stuart punch to make the butterflies.  I added small flat backed gems to the butterflies to give the card a little glitz.  The sentiment is by Craftwork Cards.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Challenges Design Team have have made some wonderful projects to inspire you.  Please pop across and see them.
