Good Luck Horseshoe

Good morning

This will probably be my last post for the current Crafty Boots Challenge, which is all about 'Good Luck'.

I recently attended one of the Crafty Boots workshops, this particular one was on 'Creating Effects using Alcohol Inks'.  We experimented with a number of different effects.  I use my favourite effect to create a base on this MDF horseshoe.

As you can see, I first covered my horseshoe shape with a purple and silver mottle effect.

I then added three ribbons, of white polka dot organza, white satin and silver, and a string of silver beads to form the handle.  I also wrapped part of the horseshoe with the ribbons and beads.  Next I added a number of roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.  Finally I added a little card I cut out with my Spellbinders and I added a good luck message using silver peel-off letters.

A horseshoe is thought to bring good luck and they are traditionally given to brides on their wedding day and I really wanted to create one for this challenge.  There is still time for you to enter the Crafty Boots Good Luck Challenge, good luck!
