Welcome

Hello, my name is Dionne and I have been crafting for a very long time. As a very young child my mother tried to teach me to knit, it was a disaster. However, it must have sparked an interest in making things and, partly to prove that I was not totally useless and partly because I really wanted to make things, I taught myself to crochet. Over the years I have developed a love of cross stitch and all types of paper craft ..... I eventually even taught myself to knit.

I am married to a very understanding man, thank goodness, because I spend all my time either crafting, thinking about crafting or talking about crafting. I am hopeless at housework and dinner is often late!

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Halloween Strangers

Hi

I really am enjoying the current Craft Boots Challenge, so many lovely Halloween images to choose from.

My card today features a 'Frame It' image from Bugaboo Digi Stamps featuring Stella called 'Halloween Strangers'.

After colouring it with Promarkers I mounted it on silver mirri and some shocking pink glitter card.  The plastic spider is out of my Halloween decorations box.

Don't forget to pop over to Crafty Boots Challenges and enter your Halloween projects.  I'm looking forward  to seeing all of your most ghoulish designs, your magical masterpieces and peculiar projects!

Vampire Pumpkin

Hi

There really are a lot of Halloween related stamps available these days and I just cannot resist them, I have another one to share with you today.

This little vampire is another Saturated Canary digital stamp called Vampire Pumpkin.

After colouring my little vampire with Promarkers  I mounted it on mirri card and black glitter card and the embossed a sheet of white card for the background.  The black glittery ribbon is from my stash and I used some more of those fabulous baby pumpkins.

The current Challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is Halloween, so why not pop over to the website and enter your Halloween projects.  I'm looking forward  to seeing all of your most ghoulish designs, your magical masterpieces and peculiar projects!

Toffee Apple Time

A couple of weeks ago it was my friend Lisette's turn to pick the theme of the Crafty Boots Challenge, which was Sweet Treats.  I had planned to make several cards to post during the challenge but what with one thing and another it never happened, sorry Lisette.

This is one of the cards I had planned to make.

I came across the template for this toffee apple on Pintrest, which led me to Lynn Pratt's blog

After colouring the apple and the toffee part with Promarkets and sticking them together, I covered it all with Glossy Accents and put it aside to dry.  Once it was past the tacky stage I attached the lolly pop stick.

I do have a Halloween connection with this project, I intend to send it to my small nephew to invite him to help me carve pumpkins next week.  Must catch the post.

Halloween Poem

Hi

The current Challenge at Crafty Boots Challenges is Halloween and I'm back today with another one of my Halloween cards to share with you.

This 'Frame It' image is by Bugaboo Digi Stamps and is called Halloween Poem.

After colouring it with Promarkers I mounted it on silver mirri and black glitter card.  The glitter ribbon is from my stash.  The adorable mini pumpkins came from a fabulous bag of goodies given to me for my birthday by my dear friend Lisette , I think they are amazing.

Halloween Bites

Good morning fellow bloggers and a very special welcome to anyone who has found there way here from the Crafty Boots Challenges site.

There is a new challenge starting at Crafty Boots Challenges today and, as a special treat, I have been allowed to choose the theme of our challenge for the next two weeks and I chose Halloween.  I would love you to show us your most ghoulish designs, your magical masterpieces and peculiar projects.

There are so many images to choose from but I eventually decided to make a card featuring this Saturated Canary vampire, called 'My Bite is Worse than His Bark'.

I coloured it with Promarkers and mounted it on some mirri card and glitter paper from my stash. I added the ribbons, which are from the Really Reasonable Ribbon people, a couple of pumpkin charms and the spiders.  The fab backing paper is a freebie papers from Bearly Mine.

The rest of the Crafty Boots Challenges Design Team have been very busy making some inspirational pieces, so please pop by and take a look.

I am looking forward to seeing your spooky projects.  Good luck.

Butterflies and Buttons

Hi

Today I am back with another project featuring butterflies to help my friend Mrs Beez raise awareness of the work of the charity Amy and Friends.  Amy and Friends supports children suffering from Cockayne Syndrome.  The butterfly is the symbol they use to represent those whose lives have been cut short by this illness.  Mrs Beez hopes to raise awareness of the disease and the work of Amy and Friends through her blog.  So please visit her blog and find out more about this important charity.

I have something a little different to share with you today, that is, something a little different for me.

I started with a large MDF 'D'.  I first gave it a coat of Gesso, followed by a coat of white acrylic paint.  Once the paint was dry I covered the surface with white buttons, as you can see.  Finally, I added some small Petaloo flowers and a Marianne Design swallowtail butterfly.

Butterfly Fairy

Hi

I still cannot resist putting butterflies on the odd card.  I really like this image from A Day for Daisies, called Butterfly Fairy and oh look, there is a butterfly.

This is a simple easel card.  The daisy paper is from a Forever Friends stack.

The lace butterfly die is a Cheery Lynn design, which I backed with black glitter card.

I layered the image with silver mirri and blue pearl card and I added 3 flat backed gems from my stash.

As I coloured the image with Promarkers I noticed how striking the fairy was with white hair, so I left it uncoloured and shaded the background to make it pop.

Thank you for visiting my blog.
