Birthday Bears

Have you ever sat down to make a card, knew exactly what you planned to do, and then made an entirely different card?  Well that is what happened to me the other day.

I started playing around with some dies I had recently purchased when I spotted these two bears.  I cut them out of some brown glitter card, which unfortunately obliterated all of their embossed features.  Undeterred I added some small black flat backed pearls for the eyes and noses.

I cut and layered several different colours of Crafter's Companion pearlescent card and a birthday sentiment from metallic gold card.

I hope you like my spontaneous creation!

  1. I know just what you mean lol you have an idea go to look for something and find something completely different and go from there-usually ends up better than what you had in mind lol.Love all the layers and your sparkly bears, the pearls are perfect eyes-I wonder if adding a shim would help with the features?

    1. Hi Carol. This is probably the most I have ever gone off track with my design, it has none of the elements I was planning to use. Not sure that a shim would help in this case, the glitter on the card is very thick, but one would definitely help with some cards.

  2. I remember that and even though I only make a few cards these days, this happens most times! I love those glittery bears and using the pearls such a clever idea, they are just perfect x

    1. Hi Lisette

Thank you for your lovely comments. It was such a shame that the camera did not show the full colour of all of the backing card. It is also a little odd that the pearls I used are all the same size but both noses look so much smaller than the eyes.

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by.
