Last summer I knitted quite a few cardigans for my little nieces but I never got the chance to post them. I thought today might be a good day to share these two with you. I made them for sisters to wear on a special occasions we all went to last summer. I wanted them to match but, as the two girls are similar in size, I made them with little differences so they could be told apart at a glance.
The most obvious difference in one is 'V' necked and the other round. I also made the bottom rib slightly wider in one and, of course, the buttons are differnt.
The pattern is by Sidir 1520 and they are made in 4 ply.
I hope you have a great weekend.

Beautiful cardigans and oh my word-4ply must have taken you ages

Ha ha ha, they did. I had only done about 3 inches of the first one when started to regrete choosing a 4 ply pattern, but the wedding was in August so the girls did not want thick cardies. I was so pleased to see the back of them.
DeleteHave a great weekend.

Thank you for the lovely comment on my blog-I didn't put more pics because the back of the box was pretty plain and the fat pages in my album I have already shared -so just shared the cover as they were just actually showcasing the metal closures

Very beautiful Dionne. It looks so soft and plush, and the pattern is gorgeous! Not sure what 4 ply means, but my guess is it means it took a lot of time and effort. Totally worth it, so pretty!! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteI think our 4 ply is between American Sport and Fingering yarn, does that make sense? It is pretty fine and thigs take a long time to grow!
DeleteWhen I was a child my mother use to talk about a shawl a friend of hers made for a baby which could be pulled through a wedding ring - now that is really fine work.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much. They are very soft and quite fine. I think my nieces are too young to appreciate them though.
