I have been having so much fun the last few weeks with Stampin Up's 'The Open Sea' stamp set, Here is another card made from the set.
As before I started by creating my own backing paper by using my Night of Navy ink pad to make a wash, I also added a few smudges with the ink. Once it was dry I took two of the stamps from the set and, using Cherry Cobbler, I stamped a random pattern. I took a tongue of Cherry Cobbler card for the centre and a disc of white card to stamp an anchor. Finally, I added some flat backed gems and a sentiment.
Have a great weekend.

Beautiful background Dee, I would have thought that was designer paper if you hadn't described how you made it! Love the gold birthday banner, it's such a regal combo with the blues! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Pamellia, I had great fun making these background papers .... although I got a bit messy.

I love this colour combination, you introduced me to Cherry Cobbler and it has become one of my favourites. Great backing paper and a great card. xx
ReplyDeleteCherry cobbler was one of the first colours I purchased from SU and I use it all the time. I hope they do not retire it ... like Midnight Muse!
DeleteHave a great weekend.
